Feb. 2, 1965 sHlGEKl SHIMAMURA FELT @EN Filed Azg so, 1965 v Fmi l INVENTOR SWGEKI SHMAMURA ATTORNEYS United States Patent O 3,167,893 FELT PEN Shigelri Sliimarnura, 833 Kyodo-machi, Sctagayalflru, Tokyo, Eapan Filed Aug. 30, 1963, Ser. No. 397,763 1 Claim. (Cl. ISI-S28) (1)V Tine of inveniion, Fen ren` This invention relates to a felt pen, ith-e writing tip of which is interchangeable and may be used for writing tine to coarse or large characters or letters.
An object of the invention is to provide a felt pen having interchangeable felt or fabric tips which will not become hardened by the solidifying of the ink and Whichpen in which the larger cylindrical body of paper may be used in the writing and several tips formed of the vtwisted yarn and of varying sizes may be inserted in the v central opening of the Wound paper.
(2) Brief description of drawings FIG. 1 shows the longitudinal section of the entire felt pen of `this device, FIG. 2 shows the longitudinal section of the pen body part rand FIG. 3 is the longitudinal section showing the pen body part with the iine wick removed.
(3) Detailed description of device This device concerns a `felt pen in which felt padding 4 with tip 3 installed protruding downward is installed inside pen body tting tube 2 which is litted -to the tip of the ink tube 1, main pen part 6 formed bywinding a piece of paper into .a cylindrical form and whose outer surface has been coated with setting resin is inserted and installed on said padding 4, the entire inner surface of the middle hole 7 of pen body 6 is impregnated with setting resin, and one or more line pen body 9 of twisted yarn with setting resin layer 8 formed similarly on the outer surface is fitted freely withdrawable and insertable and 10 in the drawing shows a cover screwed in as the bottom cover at the bottom .of ink tube 1.
Previously in the conventional felt pen, the entire pen body Was made with a piece of felt and this was tted into the ink tube but as the pen body is a pieec of felt, only thick letters could be Written and it also =had the ydefect of preventing Writing due to drying and adherence of ink on the pen body, causing scratching when writing. n 'This device has the characteristic of not only permitting Writing fine letters Which could not be Written with the 3,167,303 Patented Feb. 2, 1965 ice y previous pen, with the ne pen body 9 but also the iine pen body 9 can be removed or replaced as one or more fine pen body 9 of twisted yarn with setting resin layer formed on the outer surface by impregnating setting resin paint on the outer surface is inserted freely withdrawable or insertable in the main pen body 6 which is formed by winding a piece of paper in cylindrical form with theeni paper and twisted yarn and coated with setting resin, it
tire inside of the middle hole 7 impregnated With setting resin and Whose outer surface has been coated with setting plastic layer 5 to make the pen body aA double Wall 9 in the pen body tting tube 2 in which is tted both i pen bodies 6 and 9 Yof double wall construction and as the tip 3 is inserted in ink tube 1, compared with the device in which the ink flows out and supplies ink simply from the passage hole of fitted ltube 2, supply of ink to both pen bodies 6 and 9 is smooth, the felt padding 4 always stores ink Without excess or insufficient ink to wet vboth pen bodies 6 and 9 appropriately and has the eiect of preventing abnormal drying of the pen body surface. As pen bodies 6 and 9 are formed by rolling a piece of is appropriately hard and also soft for writing when compared with a pen body of a felt piece and also, it is possible to Write not only on the surface of paper but also on the surface of any object.
I claim:
A construction of felt pen in which felt padding (4) with tip (3) installed protruding downward is installed inside pen body tting tube (2.) which is fitted to the tip of ink tube (1), main pen part (6) formed by winding a piece of paper into a cylindrical form and Whose outer surface except for the ends has been coated with setting resin (5) is inserted and installed on said padding (4), the entire inner surface of the middle hole (7) of pen body (6) is impregnated with setting resin, and one or more line body (9) of twisted yarn with setting resin layer (8) formed similarly on the outer surface except vfor the ends is fitted freely withdrawable and insertable Within said middle hole.
