AMERIOUS VESPUCIUS COOK, OF DEXTER CITY, MISSOURI.
H EATI NG-STOV E.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 316,605, dated April 28, 1885.
Application filed December 23, 1884. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, A. V. COOK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dexter City, in the county of Stoddard and State of Missouri, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Heating-Stoves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings.
My invention relates to heating-stoves in which gasoline is used as fuel; and it consists in the construction and novel arrangement of parts, as will be hereinafter fully described, and particularly pointed out in the claim.
In the drawings, Figure l is a view in perspective of a heating-stove embodying my improvements. Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal section, and Fig. 3 isatransverse vertical section.
Referring by letter to the accompanying drawings, A designates the flanged base, and B is the boiler having a half-round or semicircular top, vertical sides, and a flat bottom. The boiler is supported above the flanged base A by the steam-pipes O, which are in the form of vertical links connected to the base and boiler and supporting the boiler above the base. The boiler is provided with a fillingaperture in its top, through which water to supply the boiler is poured.
Steam leaves the boiler through the pipe D, circulates through the steam-pipes O, and escapes through the escape-pipe E.
A gasolinepipe, F, with a series of burners, G, is supported beneath the boiler B in hangers H, secured to the bottom of the boiler. The tank containing the supply of gasoline is supported at the upper end of the supply-pipe, and the supply of gasoline is regulated in the usual manner by a stop-cock.
A portion of the burners, or all of them, may be used at one time, as may be desired.
The stove is made in various sizes to suit the place in which it is to be used.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the UnitedStates, is
The heater, consisting of the base A, the boiler 13, supported above the base, the pipe D, leading from the boiler and communicating with the vertical coil of pipes C, said pipes 0 extending through and above the boiler and into the upper side of the base, and through which pipes the steam from the boiler circulates, and the pipe F, having burners G, lo cated beneath the boiler, substantially as described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in presence of two witnesses.
AMERIGUS VESPUOIUS COOK.
