Description
Jan. 19, 1965 J. E. KROENKE CONTOUR PRESSING FORMS Filed April 26. 1962 I /5 JJNE Maxi /(22 2mm rray/v57 United States Patent 3,165,845 CDNTUUR PRESING FORE/i5 dune Eudora Kroenke, 5tl9 Oakwood Drive,
Hartland, Wis. Filed Apr. 26,1962, er. No. 190,447 2 Claims. (Cl. 38-135) This invention relates to improvements in contour pressing forms, and more particularly to a novel contour pressing form of a versatile type.
An object of the invention is to provide a device of the type embodying in one unit a multiplicity of surfaces the device Referring more particularly to the'drawing, the nu-.
meral 19"refers to the device generally, comprising a base board 11 of predominately oval formation having an end cut-out at 12 presenting a rounded end at 13, and a pointed tapered end at 14. Aifixed to the base 11 flush with the straight edge 15 thereof is an upright member 16, anvil-shaped in profile, having the downwardly slanted" end 17 with the blunt and rounded point 18, and a tapered pointed straight edge at its opposite end 19.
An upwardly inclined elongated element is afiixed to the base board 11 immediately abutting the vertical member 16. The upwardly inclined elongated element 20.has
a curvate upper end 21 with thecurve modified so that it is in greater degree on one edge than on the otherv andis useful in pressing operations involving seams on curved surfaces of various kinds. Threaded means 22 secure the various parts to form a unit. I V v I It will be understood that the device '10 has many versatile pressing surfaces and edges. It can be usedfor Fatented Jan. 19, V 1965 pressing seams on inside curves, forming collar rolls, on straight edges and pointed straight edges, for small outside curves as well as reverse large outside curves. It may be used for shrinking a sleeve cap and for setting sleeve seams. The base can be used for flat surfaces. I
It will be understood that the device is capable of many'modifications in structure and design, without depanting'from the spirit of the invention, within the scope of the appended claims. 7
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed and desired to be secured by Letters Patent of the United States, is:
1. A pressing form comprising a substantially oval baseboard having a cut-out portion in one end thereof,
- a second board anvil-shaped in profile vertically disposed on one margin of saidbaseboard, and a narrow elongated member disposed at an angle on said base board pointed away from said second board.
2. A'contour pressing form comprising'a substantial- -ly oval base board having a cut-out port-ionin one end thereof, one side of said cut-out portion terminating in a tapered point, the opposite side of saidcut out portion terminating in a juncture of a curve and a straight edge, a second plate vertically disposed on one margin of said base element, said second plate having an anvil-shaped profile, a point formed on one side end of the anvil form,
a short top slope cut on the opposite upper end of said second plate, and a narrow elongated member disposed at an angle on said base board immediately abutting said second board, said elongated -member having unequal curved side edges at the upper" end thereof.
