Claims (1)

1. IN A TIRE BUILDING MACHINE HAVING A TIRE BUILDING DRUM, A BIAS-CUTTER FOR SUPPLYING BIAS-CUT SECTIONS OF FABRIC FROM A WEB OF TIRE CORD FABRIC, AND A CONVEYOR FOR RECEIVING THE CUT SECTIONS OF FABRIC, MEANS FOR LIFTING A FIRST SECTION OF FABRIC FROM THE CONVEYOR SO THAT SECOND SECTION OF FABRIC MAY BE MOVED BY THE CONVEYOR TO A POSITION UNDERLYING A PORTION OF SAID FIRST SECTION OF FABRIC, MEANS FOR SPLICING TOGETHER THE OVERLAPPED PORTIONS OF SAID SECTIONS OF FABRIC TO FORM STRIPS OF SPLICED FABRIC, MEANS FOR CUTTING PLIES OF PROPER LENGTH FROM THE STRIPS OF SPLICED FABRIC, MEANS FOR ACTUATING SAID LIFTING MEANS TO LATERALLY SHIFT A CUT PLY TO OFFSET ITS SIDE EDGES WITH RESPECT TO THE SIDE EDGES OF AN ADJACENT PLY, AND MEANS FOR DELIVERING SUCCESSIVE PLIES TO SAID BUILDING DRUM.
