DEVICE FOR PUTTING ON BOOTS OR SHOES.

Be it known that l, CHRISTIAN BLOHM, a subject ofthe Emperor of Germany, anda resident of Altona, in the Kingdom of Prussia and German Empire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Implements for Putting on Boots or Shoes, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in implements for putting on boots or shoes; and the objects of these improvements are, rst, to facilitate the attaching of theboots or shoes to the implement and the disengaging from the same, and, second, to provide means for adjusting the height of thesuspending device with rt ference to the varying height of the boots or shoes. I attain these objects by the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in whichf Figure lis a perspective view; and Fig. 2, a side elevation, partly in section.

The rectangular or otherwise shaped frame a is provided at opposite sides with vert-ical pegs b,of conical shape,wl1ereon the straps of the boot or shoe are suspended in such a man ner as t0 open the upper sufficiently for introducing the foot. By pushing down the foot into the suspended boot or shoe the latter is put on correctly, and by withdrawing the foot from the interior ofthe frame the straps are posed of two levers, d and f, hinged together by the bolt c. The lever d is hinged to the nut 72, by means of the bolt ,and the leverf to the nut gby the boltk. Both nuts are actuated by means of a right and left hand screw, e, resting in bearings Z and m, fixed to the frame a. rlhus the height of the frame a above the ground is adjusted in correspondence with the height ofthe boots or shoes.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I desire to claim and secure by Letters Patent is- 1. A horizontal frame ,having legs or supports, and vertical pegs on opposite sides of a central opening, adapted to receive the straps of a boot or shoe, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.

2. A vertically-adjustable horizontal open frame having legs or supports, and pegs adapted to receive the straps of a boot or shoe, substantially1 as and for the purpose set forth.

3. In implements for putting on boots or shoes, the combination of the framed with CHRISTIAN BLOHM.
