McGrew, 8400 Asher Ave., Little Rock, Ark. Filed Feb. 17, 1961, Ser. No. 90,060 1 Claim. (Cl. 224) This invention relates to a fishermans accessory kit and more particularly to a utility carrying device designed primarily ior containing small fishing equipment, such as hooks, snaps, swivels and lures of various types, sinkers, floats, leaders or the like.
An important object of the invention is to provide a carrying device of this character embodying a plurality of transparent plastic vials of predetermined sizes, in which articles necessary for use by fishermen may be conveniently carried, and the various articles selected without the necessity of removing the screw caps that are used in closing the individual vials, thereby making it an easy matter to select the desired articles.
Another important object of the invention is to provide a supporting cord for adjustably connecting and holding the vials in various adjusted positions along the supporting cord, to permit vials of various diameters to be strung thereon if desired.
Still another object of the invention is the provision of spaced openings in the metal threaded caps, closing the vials, through which openings the supporting cord is threaded to hold the caps in their adjusted positions on the cord, and at the same time hold the transparent vials against accidental displacement.
A further object of the invention is to provide a supporting cord of such a length that the cord may be wrapped around the crown of a hat, and the multiplicity of vials supported by the hat of the fisherman, or the cord may be unwrapped and the vials supported from the cord in a manner as a shoulder strap, with the vials easily accessible to the fisherman.
Other and further objects and advantages Of this invention will be hereinafter described and the novel features thereof defined in the appended claim.

FIGURE 1 is a plan view of the supporting cord wound for positioning around the crown of a hat, illustrating a number of vials as secured thereto.
FIGURE 2 is a front elevational view of two adjacent vials supported on a supporting cord, in accordance with the invention.
FIGURE 3 is a top plan view of one of the vials.
FIGURE 4 is a sectional view taken on line 44 of FIGURE 2.
FIGURE 5 is a plan view illustrating how the supporting cord of a vial cord may be used as a shoulder strap vial support.
Referring to the drawing in detail, the device form-ing the subject matter of the present invention, comprises a length of cord material indicated by the reference character 5, the cord material providing a support for the several vials indicated by the reference character 6.
As shown, these vials 6 are constructed of transparent plastic material, and have threaded ends to thread the metal caps 7, that close the individual vials.
The cord 5 is substantially long and is formed into a loop, the vials being supported preferably throughout only a portion of the length of the cord, leaving a section of the cord blank for wrapping around the various metal caps 7, in a manner as shown by FIGURE 1 of the drawing, so that the body of the device will fit over the crown of the conventional hat, and the device supported in this manner.
It might be here stated that in the event that the fisherman desines to support the various vials containing the various fishermans equipment at his side, the cord may be unwrapped and the cord supported over the shoulder as a shoulder strap, with the vials along the lower side of the loop or cord, where the fisherman will have ready access to the vials.
As better shown by FIGURE 4 of the drawings, each cap 7 is formed with a pair of openings which are arranged in alignment, so that the cord 5 may be threaded therethrough, in a manner as shovm by FIGURE 4, the cord setting up friction with the edges of the openings 8 to hold the vials in various positions of adjustment along the cord. It will thus be seen that by loosening the cord at the points of contact with the metal caps 7, the cord may be readily moved through the adjacent openings and then when pulled, will tightly grip the walls of the openings holding the various caps and vials of which the caps form a part, in their positions of adjustment along the cord.
From the foregoing it will be seen that due to the construction shown and described, I have provided a fishermans accessory kit in the way of a utility carrying kit embodying a plurality of transparent vials in which various fishermans accessories may be supported and held, the accessories being visible through the transparent walls of the vials so that the accessory desired may be quickly identified and removed by merely unscrewing the vial from its cap.
It will iurther be seen that due to this construction, it is unnecessary to remove the cap from the cord in order to remove an accessory contained in a particular vial.
It might be further stated that with applicants structure, it is possible to support small fishermans accessories, and by positioning a larger vial on the cord, the carrying device may be adapted for use in carrying larger articles that could not be carried in the usual 'vial of a device out this character.
Having thus described the invention what is claimed is:
A utility carrying device comprising, in combination, a continuous extensively elongated substantially flexible relatively narrow supporting cord and a plurality of transparent plastic vials adjustably positioned upon only a portion of said supporting cord and supported thereby, said vials comprising, in turn, a transparent plastic article supporting portion having a threaded open end and a threaded cap for mutual cooperative engagement with said threaded open end and for closing said vials, said cap having at least two aligned apertures therein for frictional mutual cooperative engagement with said supporting cord, whereby said vials are fniotzionally adjustably supported only upon said portion of the supporting cord, said supporting cord being capable of formation into an annulus of a size approximating that of the crown of a conventional hat by forming loops in said supporting cord about the plurality of vials positioned upon and supported thereby, whereby said vials are capable of being positioned upon and supported by the brim of said hat when said looped supporting cord is positioned about the crown thereof, said supporting cord being additionally capable of formation into a shoulder strap by releasing the loops therein from about the vials, whereby said supporting cord is capable of being positioned upon and supported by an individuals shoulder and the vials sup- 3 ported only by said portion of the supporting cord are 2,560,381 conveniently positioned and readily usable by said in- 2,904,205 dividual. 2,936,901
