Claims (1)

1. A DISCHARGE TUBE, SAID ATOMIC SPECTRAL LIGHT SOURCE BEING CONFINED WHOLLY TO THE HOLLOW INTERIOR OF THE RESPECTIVE ELECTRODE, COMPRISING A SEALED ENVELOPE, AT LEAST TWO HOLLOW CYLINDRICAL ELECTRODES MOUNTED SIDE BY SIDE AT ONE END OF THE ENVELOPE WITH THEIR AXES PARALLEL, AND A TRANSPARENT WINDOW AT THE OTHER END OF THE ENVELOPE IN AXIAL ALIGNMENT WITH THE AXES OF THE SAID ELECTRODE, EACH OF THE ELECTRODES INCLUDING A DIFFERENT ELEMENT AND BEING CAPABLE OF PROVIDING AN ATOMIC SPECTRAL LIGHT SOURCE CHARACTERISTIC OF THAT ELEMENT FOR PORVIDING A SPECTRAL LINE OF AT LEAST TWO SOLID ELEMENTS, WHEREBY LIGHT FROM ANY ONE OF THE ELECTRODES CAN BE VIEWED THROUGH THE WINDOW WITHOUT OBSTRUCTION BY ANY OTHER OF THE ELECTRODES.
