COOKING STOVE AND RANGE.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, S. B. SnXToN, of Baltimore, State of Maryland, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Cooking Stoves and Ranges; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawing, forming part of this specification, in the several figures of which similar characters of reference denote the same part.
Figure 1 is a vertical longitudinal section of range. Fig. 2 is a vertical transverse section. Fig. 3 is an interior view of grate. Fig. 4: is a section through air openings of grate.
The nature of my invention consists in a certain arrangement of devices hereinafter to be set forth in the construction of cooking ranges.
In the drawings A and B are two ovens arranged one above the other surrounded by fines a, Z), 0, (Z, 6.
The chamber of combustion C is at one side of the ovens and contains a grate G, formed with double upper plates 2' f, the latter corrugated and perforated as shown in Fig. 4, so that cold air enters between the plates and passes out the perforations to mingle with the products of combustion and effect in a better manner their consumption.
At the back of the range is a flue F, c0mmunicating with the chamber of heated air around the chamber of combustion, so as to be used for warming the apartment above from the fire used for cooking.
I claim The arrangement of chambers A, B, and C, and fiues a, Z), 0, (Z, c and F with the grate G constructed as described.
