afcla'tms. Cl. 139 241 The present invention relates to a bobbin hangingdevice for two shuttle looms, especially for looms with filling to be entered in'the upper shed and in the lower shed. With looms of this type, the two shuttles are simultaneously thrown or picked in the same.direction through the sheds. Y
It is an object of the present inventionto provide a simplified bobbin changing device for use in connection with; a 100m of the above mentioned type. p
t is also an object of this invention to provide 8. bobbin changin device which:- will materially simplify the construction and the control system.
These and'other objects'arid advantages of theinvention will appear more clearly from the following specification in connection with the accompanying drawings, in which: 7
Fig. 1 represents a diagrammatic section through the shuttle boxes with a bobbin changing apparatus according to the invention for changing the bobbins in the upper shed shuttle, Fig. 1 showing the arrangement during the bobbin changing operation.
Fig. 2 is a section somewhat similar to that of Fig. 1 during the ordinary operation of the loom.
Fig. 3 illustrates a section through the shuttle boxes with the bobbin changing device according to the invention for the bobbin in the lower shed shuttle during the bobbin changing operation.
Fig. 4 is a section somewhat similar to that of Fig. 3
during the ordinary operation of the loom.
' The simplified bobbin changing device according to the invention is characterized primarily in that at one side of the loom there is arranged a stationary bobbin changing apparatus for the exchanging of the bobbins of the upper shed shuttle, whereas at the other side of the loom there is arranged a stationary bobbin changing apparatus for the exchanging of the bobbins for the lower shed shuttle. This arrangement results in a simple construction and a simplecontrol mechanism. In conformity with the present invention, the upper shed shuttle box may, for purposes of exchanging the bobbin of the upper shed shuttle, be movable toward the front below the bobbin changing apparatus. Similarly, on the other side of the loom the lower shed shuttle box may, for purposes of exchanging the bobbin of the lower shed shuttle, be movable toward the front below the bobbin changing apparatus. This displacement of one or the other shuttle box will be efiected only when the exchanging of the bobbin becomes necessary.- According to a practical is tilted-toward .thebfront, so that .while a new bobbin Slistobeiinsei-tedlbymeans ofahammer 19, the empty bobbin 2 can drop freely downwardly past the stationary lower shuttle ,box .6.
This, 'l=t1ng movement of theshuttle box 5 is effected bya two-arm lever7 which-is tiltably journalled on shaft 20 connected to aloom ,sley 27, said lever 7 being connected to shuttle box 5 by means of a joint or bolt 21. p
. The loom frame .22 carries a bolt 23 having journalled thereon an abutment 9 which, similar to the push rod 24 .iscontrolled by a control device for effecting the bob bin exchange. It-will1be appreciated that the abutment 9. will be actuatedin conformity with the quantity of yarn or thread ,onthe respective bobbin. According to customary and standard procedure, afeeler' (not shown) sensesthequantityof yarn or thread on the bobbin and as soon as the feeler ascertains a. certain minimum quantityof yarn or thread on the respective bobbin, the feelcr initiates a control impulse which brings about an adjustment of the piston 29' reciprocably mounted in cylinder-.30. I i-a bobbin has to be exchanged, the abutment :9 moves .out of the tilted position shown in Fig, 2 and upwardly into the path of lever arm 8 pertaining to the two-arm lever 7 which latter through the intervention of shaft 20 and bolt 21 acts upon the shuttle box 5. By means of link 10, shuttle box 5 is guided along a flat arc whereby a contact of box 5 with the stationary shuttle box 6 will be prevented. The tiltable shuttle box 5 is provided with a piercer 25 which acts upon push rod 24 which in its turn moves a hammer 19 downwardly in a manner known per se through the intervention of an angle-shaped hammer lever 26. v As a. result thereof, a new bobbin 3 is thrown into the shuttle 4, and the empty bobbin 2 is thrown out of shuttle 4.
After the bobbin exchange has been effected, the shuttle box 5 is by means of spring 11 withdrawn into its normal position shown in Fig. 2. Inasmuch as at the same time abutment 9 and thus also push rod 24 are tilted by the exchange apparatus the bobbin exchange apparatus will be inactive during thefurther operation of the loom.
Referring now to Figs. 3 and 4, these figures show a device similar to that of Figs. 1 and 2 for the bobbin exchange in the lower shuttle box. This arrangement is equipped witha magazine 13 which is so arranged that a new bobbin 14 can be thrown into the forwardly tilted lower shuttle box 15. In this way, the empty bobbin 12 will drop out of this lower shuttle box 15. The upper shuttle box 16 remains stationary and will not be tilted. Also with this embodiment, the movable shuttle box 15 is, by means of a two-arm lever 28, journalled on the loom sley 27, whereas a link 10 connects the lower shuttle box 15 with the upper box 16. The control is the same as described above and is elfected by means of an embodiment of the invention, the adjustable shuttle boxes may be controlled by double levers and links. To allow abutment 17 which acts upon lever arm 18 of the double lever 28. After the bobbin exchange has been efiected, the lower shuttle box 15 is likewise returned by means of a spring 11.
It is, of course, to be understood that the present invention is, by no means, limited to the particular constructions shown in the drawings but also comprises. any modifications within the scope of the appended claims.
