The letter A indicates a tool provided with two handlesqr a, and a lateral extension, b. The said extension'starts at an. angle, 0, from the intermediate portion between the handles, and has a straight edge at one side, for the purpose hereinafter described, Opposite the angular portion of the extension is a lug or ear, 6, which is formed on the portion of the device between-the two handles. This lug is provided with a screw-threaded opening, f, through which extends a set-screw, g, the inner end of which is adapted to bear against one tooth of the saw, between the base and apex, when the device is in .place. The outer end of the lateralextension is also provided with a screw-threaded aperture, through which ex- 3 5 tends a set-screw, h, the end of which is adapted to bear upon the face of the saw, so as to regulate the angle of the tooth or teeth to be set.

In employing my invention, the device is set over the periphery of the saw, the tooth to be set extending up between the angular portion 0 of the extension and the lug or ear before mentioned. The set-screw at the end of the extension is then adjusted, as well as the setscrew in the lug or ear, and the tooth is set by tilting the tool-to one side, the set-screw in 5 the lug bending the tooth in the proper direction, while the set-screw in the extension, by striking against the side of the saw, regulates the distance or angle at which the tooth is bent. The teeth are successively operated upon alternately in opposite directions, and, as will be perceived, are all invariably set at the same angle, thus securing uniformity and precision.

Having thus described my invention, what 5 5 I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent,

Is I I A saw-set consisting of a tool having two handles, a lateral extension starting from the same at an angle thereto, and a lug or car opposite said angular portion, the extension and lug being provided with set-screws, whereby the teeth of the saw may be bent or set at a uniform angle, substantially as specified.
