cultivators; and the following description of my invention, when taken in connection with the annexed drawings,will enable those skilled in the art to fully understand it.

Figure 1 is a plan, and Fig. 2 a side eleva-. tion, of my invention.

. AA designate the wheels; I, an axle around which the wheels revolve; B'B', shafts fastened to the axle I; D D, crosswbars bolted to the shafts0ne in front and the other behind the wheels-and to the front piece is attached a single-tree, to which is attached the horse or motive power.

E E E" designate bars of wood placed under the axle horizontally and in the shape of a wedge, so that the front ends approach nearer each other than the other ends. are placed at equal distance from each other, and-fastened there by means of bars and bolts:

These bars They are also held in position by means of six iron bar s,' S, fastened near the ends to the extremities of E E E, and the other ends of the bars S fastened to the shafts and piece D.

F F designate two braces, with one end of each fastened to the front end of the outside bars of wood, E E", and at such an angle that the other end touches or braces on the front side of D,when the vehicle is in use, and thus moves with the wheels.

. .G designates one of several shovels fastened to E E E.

H is a lever, having a fulcrum, T, with one endfastened to the bar E. By putting the hand on the other end of H and pressing backward, it raises up the bars E E E, so that it can pass over any'obstacle.

O designates'a seat fastened to axle I.

Having described my invention, I claim- The combination, with the main frame and axle, of cultivator-frame E E E, the suspending rods S, the lever H, and the inclined braces FF, rigidly screwed to the front end of the cultivator-frame, and arranged to bear against the rear cross-bar and take the strain off the shovels when at work, substantially as shown S.
