Be it known that I, CALYIN DETRICK, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of New York city, New York, have invented a .Machine for Making Lined Conduits of Plastic or Senii-Plastie lllaterial, of which the following is a specification.
My invention consists ot' mechanism, fully described hereinafter, for facilitating the formation ot' conduits composed of cement, and lining` tubes round which the said cement is packed, my present invention being an improvement Yin the mechanism described in former patents hereinafter referred to.

The machine is in many respects similar to.
that described in Letters latent No. 220,757, July H, 15TH, and also in 'lateutsXos td,52.l, 272,410, and 272,411; but thel machine described in these patents was" constructed. Any of the devices `shown in the abovementioucd. patents, through thewnudium of which the plunger is recipriu'atcd by vibrating the operating-lever, may be used, but I prefer the mechanism which I will proceed to describe.
A rock-shaft, l, to which the operatinglever D is secured, has its bearings on standards J, secured to the casing Aw-one on each side of the same-and to this shaft are attached two. arms, b, each of which is connected by a link, c, to one armof a lever, K, and to the outer end of a link, 17, which is hinged at e to the rear end ot the easing, the other arm of the said lever K being` connected to the ram B by a link, f. both sides of the guiding-tube (t, cach lever K having its rfulerum-liin la in an elongated slot in one of the standards J.

When an underground conduit has to be laid, a trench ot' suitable depth is dug in the ground, and the above-described machine is placed at thebottom of `this trench after which a section oflining-tube G is passed through the guiding-,tube 1I. The material iu which the lining-pipe is enveloped may consist of ordinary cement, which is originallyin a semiplastic condition, but which subsequently becomes hard, diilcrentmaterials and compositions being availablefor the purpose.
