16 Claims. (Cl. 200 5il) This invention relates to a drawout type ,'switchgear structure and more particularly to a disconnecting device whereby the secondary contacts may be disconnected while'the circuit breaker unit remains in the test racking position.
A drawout type circuit breaker is usually moved to one of three positions; an operating position wherein both the pairs of primary and secondary cooperating contacts are engaged, a test position wherein the pairs of primary cooperating contacts are disengaged and the pairs of secondary cooperating contacts are engaged, and a disconnected position wherein both the pairs of primary and secondary cooperating contacts are disengaged. In. the operating position the circuit breaker unit is positioned fully within its protective cubicle. In the test position the circuit breaker unit ispartially withdrawn from the cubicle. While in the disconnect position the circuit breaker unit is withdrawn from the cubicle a greater distance than when in the test position.
With the development of the deep escutcheon breaker disclosed in copending application Serial No. 606,597, liled August 28, 1956, assigned to the assignee of the instant invention, it became possible to move the circuit breaker unit to the test position without opening the door of the cubicle. This arrangement made it desirable to design a mechanism which will disengage the secondary contacts without physically moving the circuit breaker unit to a third disconnected position thereby providing a disconnected position in a standard compartment. It is also desirable to isolate the primary and secondary contacts.
This invention is carried out by providing a control means that is operable, only when the circuit breaker is in the test position, to selectively engage and disengage the secondary contacts. One contact of each pair of secondary contacts is secured to the circuit breaker unit and movable therewith and the other or semi-stationary contact of each pair is pivotally mounted. The control means is operatively connected to pivot the semistatiouary contact into and out of engagement with the movable contact. An interlock is provided to close the secondary contacts when the circuit breaker unit is moved to the operating po-sition.
With this arrangement it is po-ssible to use a standard size cubicle rather than one of greater depth. No special drawout parts are required. Nor is a special visual or positional indicator required since the control means is operable from without the cubicle by a manual operating member whose position is indicative of whether or not the secondary contacts are in engagement. There is no limitation on which inside surface of the cubicle the semi-stationary contacts are mounted. Both the primary and second contacts may be disconnected without opening the cubicle' cover.
A rst barrier projecting from a wall of the cubicle is partially overlapped by a second barrier projecting from the circuit breaker unit'to cooperate therewith in forming an isolation barrier between the primary and secondary contacts to prevent faults or foreign objects from affecting both primary and secondary contacts.
Accordingly, a primary object of this invention is to provide a control means whereby secondary contacts of a drawout circuit breaker may be selectively engaged and disengaged While the circuit breaker unit physically remains in its test racking position.
Another object of this invention is to provide a control means for secondary contacts which is manually operated external of the circuit breaker cubicle.
Still another object is to provide a circuit breaker unit wherein the primary and secondary contacts may be disengaged without opening the cover of the circuit breaker cubicle.
A further object of this invention is to provide an interlock which will only permit operation of the control means while the circuit breaker unit is in the test position.
A still further object of this invention is to provide an interlock that will always engage the seco-ndary contacts when the circuit breaker unit is in the operating position.
Another object of this invention is to provide la semistationary contact pivotally mounted on the cubicle to be moved into and out of engagement, by the control means, with a movable secondary contact secured to the circuit breaker unit.
Another object of this invention is to provide secondary contacts that may be mounted to any inside surface of the cubicle to be controlled by operating means that does no-t require a special visual indicator.
Another object of this invention is to provide an isolation means between primary and secondary contacts.

Referring to the figures, the circuit breaker structure generally designated as ltlil comprises as a circuit breaker unit 10 disposed within a cubicle 11. The internal mechanism of the circuit breaker unit 10 forms no part of this invention. Hence, it may be of the type set forth in Patent No. 2,770,701 assigned to the assignee of the instant invention.
Projecting through the back 12 of the circuit breaker spaanse unit and secured thereto are six movable primary contacts 13 required in a three phase system whose jaws 14 are engageable with the six xed primary contacts 15 that are secured to and project through the back 16 of cubicle 11. The front of cubicle 11 includes a cover plate 17 secured to the remainder of cubicle 11 by means of fasteners 18.
Since the switchgear structure 111i@ includes a circuit breaker unit 11i having a deep escutcheon 22 the circuit breaker unit 16 may be moved between its operating and test racking positions without removing the cover plate 17 and opening cubicle 11.
Mounted across the back 12 of circuit breaker unit 10 and projecting therefrom is a channel 3i) welded or otherwise secured to brackets 31 upon which rollers 19 are rotatably mounted. Depending from the bottom of channel are a plurality of movable secondary contact assemblies 33 secured thereto by screws 34. A barrier 35 is secured to channel 3@ by machine screws 36 and is positioned to project beyond the movable secondary contact assemblies 33 and be overlapped by barrier member 37 secured to the back 16 of cubicle 11 to form an isolation barrier between the primary and secondary contacts when the circuit breaker unit 10 is in the operating position of Figure 2.
Each movable secondary contact assembly 33 comprises a molded insulated casing 3S having three recesses 41 wherein movable secondary contacts 39 are nested. Each movable secondary contact 39 is urged out of housing 38 by bias spring dil, but is limited in movement at one end by engagement of contact projection 4Z with casing ledge 43 and at the other end by pin 44 which rests on terminal d5. This type of secondary contact is more fully explained in copending application Serial No. 552,407, tiled December 12, l955 assigned to the assignee of the instant invention.
Movable secondary contact assemblies 33 cooperate with semi-stationary secondary contact assemblies to admit control circuit power to the circuit breaker unit 10. Each semi-stationary contact assembly 59 comprises a molded insulating block 51 having barriers 52 which insulate three semi-stationary secondary contacts 53 from each other.
The plurality o-f semi-stationary secondary contact assemblies 50 are mounted on support member 54 by means of screws 54 which are received by holes 51 tapped in insulating block 51.
Each end of support member 5d is secured to an end section 55a and 55h which have pins 56 and 57 projecting therefrom. Bolts 3S and nuts 99 secure support member 54 to end sections 55a and 55h. Pins 57 are hollow members receiving pivot pins 5S which project inwardly from tracks 2d. Nuts 59 and 59 are received by the threads 6@ of pin 53 to secure pin 53 to track Each follower pin 56 mates with cam slots 65 of operators 61a and 61]; which are identical members cornprising a ilat member 62 having guide slots 63 and 64 and cam slot 65 cut therein, the purpose of which shall be hereinafter explained.

Guide pins 66 and 67 project inwardly from tracks Ztl with nuts 63 and 69 mating with threads 70 to secure guide pins 66 and nuts 71 and 72 mating with threads 73 to secure guide pin 67. Guide pins 66 and 67 mate with guide slots 63 and 64 respectively, of operators 61a and 61h to journal their sliding motion.
Starting with the switchgear structure 10i) in the operating position of Figure 2, the operation thereof proceeds as follows:
(l) The circuit breaker unit 1t) is rolled to the test racking position of Figure 3 which automatically disengages the primary cooperating contacts 13 and 15. Because of the deep escutcheon 22, the circuit breaker unit isk movable to the test racking position without the necessity of removing the cover plate 17. In this position the secondary cooperating contacts 39 and 53 are in engagement so that the control circuits may be tested.
(2) lf it is then desired to remove all power from the circuit breaker unit 1t), the grip 31 is pulled outward so that the switchgear components assume the position of FigureV 4. 1n this position the operators 61a and 6111 have been moved to the left (Figures 2-4) with follower pin 56 being pivoted to the lower position 56a by cam slot 65 Causing support member 54 to pivot about pins 53 thereby disengaging semi-stationary secondary contacts 53 from movable secondary contacts 39. By moving the operating member 77 to the left and right the operators 61a and 61h are made to slide therewith and thereby operate the secondary contacts 39 and 53 into and out of engagement without increasing the racking distance between the test and disconnected positions.
(3) Rolling circuit breaker unit 10 back to the operating position of Figure 2 will automatically engage the primary cooperating contacts 13 and 15`and also secondary cooperating contacts 39 and 53, if they have not previously been brought to their engaged position. The latter interlocking function is accomplished by having the back 12 of the circuit breaker unit 10 engage the step 86 of operators 61a and 6111 to force them to the right and pivot follower pin 56 upward so that the secondary cooperating contacts 39 and 53 are in engagement. Similarly, the operating member 77 cannot befoperated while the circuit breaker unit 16 is in the operating position of Figure 2 since the back 12 blocks movement of operators 61a and 61b to the left.
rFhus, we have provided a switchgear structure of the rollout type wherein the primary and secondary contacts may each be operated without the necessity of opening the cubicle 11. Furthermore, the required racking distance is reduced since circuit breaker unit 10 need not be moved physically to effect a change from the test to disconnected conditions.
It is to be understood that the semi-stationary secondary contacts 53 could be operatively mounted upon the circuit breaker unit 1@ and their cooperating contacts 39 be secured to the cubicle 11 with the control means comprising the operating member 77, the operators 61a and 61b, the end sections 55a and and the support ber 54 also being operatively secured to the circuit breaker unit 10.
`In the foregoing, we have describedl our invention only in connection with preferred embodiments thereof. Many variations and modifications of the principles of our invention within the scope of the description herein are obvious. Accordingly, we prefer to be bound not by the specific disclosure herein, but only by the appending claims.
We claim:
l. `In a switchgear structure the combination of a cubicle and a circuit breaker unit disposed within said cubicle and-movable between a test and an operating position; a plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts, each of said pairs comprising a iiXed primary contact secured to said cubicle and a movable primary contact secured to said circuit breaker; each'of said plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts being engaged when said circuit breaker is in said operating position and being disengaged when said circuit breaker is in said tes-t position; a plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; each of said pairs of secondary cooperating contacts being -in engagement when said circuit breaker is in said operating position; a control means operatively connected to a first of said secondary cooperating contacts of each pair of said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; said control means being operable to selectively operate said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into and out of engagement when said circuit breaker is in said test position.
2. In a switchgear structure the combination of a cubicle and a circuit breaker unit disposed within said cubicle and movable between a test .and .an operating position; a plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts, each of said pairs comprising a fixed primary contact secured to said cubicle and a movable primary contact secured to said circuit breaker; each of said plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts being engaged when said circuit breaker is in said operating position and being disengaged when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; each of said pairs of secondary cooperating contacts being -in engagement when said circuit breaker is in said operating position; a control means operatively connected to a first of said secondary cooperating contacts of each pair of said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; said control means being operable to selectively operate said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into and out of engagement when said circuit breaker i-s in said test position; an interlock operatively positioned to engage said control means and thereby render said control means inoperable when said circuit breaker unit is in said yoperating position.
3. In a switchgear structure the combination of a cubicle and a circuit breaker unit disposed within said cubicle and movable between a test yand an operating position; a plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts, each of said pairs comprising a fixed primary contact secured to said cubicle and a movable primary contact secured to said circuit breaker; each of said plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts being engaged when said circuit breaker is in said operating position and being disengaged when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; each of said pairs of secondary cooperating contacts being in engagement when said circuit breaker is in said operating position; a control means operatively connected to a first of said secondary cooperating contacts of each pair of said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts, said control means being operable to selectively operate said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into and out of engagement when said circuit breaker is in said test position; an interlock operatively positioned to lengage said control means and thereby render saidcontrol means inoperable when said circuit breaker unit is in said operating position; said interlock also being operatively eng-ageable with said control means when said circuit breaker is moved from said test position to said operating position and thereby operate said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into engagement.
4. lIn a switchgear structure the combination of a lil cubicle and a circuit breaker unit disposed within said cubicle and movable between a test land an operating position; a plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts, each of said pairs comprising a xed primary contact secured to said cubicle and a movable primary contact secured to said circuit breaker; each of said plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts being engaged when said circuit breaker is in said operating position and being disengaged when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; each of said pairs of secondary cooperating contacts being in engagement when said circuit breaker is in said operating position; a control means operatively connected to a first of said secondary cooperating contacts of each pair of said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contactsi said control means being operable to selectively operate said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into and out of engagement when said circuit breaker is in said test position; an interlock operatively positioned to engage said control means and thereby render said control means inoperable when said circuit breaker unit is in said operating position said interlock also being operatively engageable with said control means when said circuit breaker is moved from said test position to said operating position and thereby -operate said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating cont-acts into engagement; said control means being operable from a point external to the cubicle.
5. In a switchgear structure the combination of a cubicle and a circuit breaker unit disposed within said cubicle and movable between a test and an operating position; a plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts, each of said pairs comprising a fixed primary contact secured to said cubicle and a movable primary contact secured to said circuit breaker; each of said plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts being engaged when said circuit breaker is in said operating position and being disengaged when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a plurality of pairs 'of Secondary cooperating contacts; each of said pairs of secondary cooperating contacts being in engagement when said circuit breaker is in said operating position; a control means operatively connected to a rst of said secondary cooperating contacts of each pair of said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts, said control means being operable to selectively operate said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into and out of engagement when said circuit breaker is in said test position; an interlock operatively positioned to engage said control means and thereby render said control means inoperable when said circuit breaker unit is in said operating position; said interlock also being operatively engageable with said control means when said circuit breaker is moved from said test position to said operating position and thereby operate said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into engagement; said cubicle including a cover plate having an aperture cut therein; said circuit breaker unit including a deep escutcheon operatively positioned within said aperture to enable said circuit breaker unit to be moved between said test and operating positions without removing said cover plate; said control means including an operating member mounted within a cubicle opening to enable s'aid plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts to be moved into and out of engagement without opening said cubicle.
6. In a switchgear structure the combination of a cubicle and a circuit breaker unit disposed within said cubicle and movable between a test and an operating position; a plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts, each of said pairs comprising a xed primary contact secured to said cubicle and a movable primary contact secured to said circuit breaker; each of said plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts being engaged when said circuit breaker is in said operatingposition and being disengaged when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; each of said pairs of secondary cooperating'contacts being in engagement when said circuit breaker is in said operating position; a control means operatively connected to a iirst of said secondary cooperating contacts of each pair of said plurality of pairs et secondary cooperating contacts; said control means being operableto selectively operate plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts'into and out of engagement when said circuit breaker isin said test position; one of said contacts of each pair of secondary er ,cntacts being movable and the other contact of eacrL pair of secondary cooperating contacts being semi-stationary.
7. In a switchgear structure the combination of a cubicle and a circuit breaker unit disposed within said cubicle and movable between a test and an operating position; a plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts, each of said pairs comprising a xed primary contact secured to said cubicle and a movable primary contact secured to said circuit breaker; each or' said plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts being engaged when said circuit breaker is in said operating position and being disengaged when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; each of said pairs of secondary cooperating contacts being in engagement when said circuit breaker is in said operating position; a control means operatively connected to a rst of said secondary cooperating contacts of each pair of said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; said control means being operable to selectively operate said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into and out of engagement when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a irst member secured to said cubicle and a second member secured to said circuit breaker unit and operatively positionable to partially overlap said iirst member when said circuit breaker unit is in said operating position to eectively isolate said plurality of pairs or primary and secondary cooperating contacts from each other.
8. In a switcbgear structure the combination of a cubicle and a circuit breaker unit disposed within said cubicle and movable between a test and an operating position; a plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts, each of said pairs comprising a Xed primary contact` secured to said cubicle and a movable primary contact secured to said circuit breaker; each of said plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts being engaged when `said circuit breaker is in said operating position and being disengaged when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a plurality of pairsy of secondary cooperating contacts; each of said pairs of secondary cooperating contacts being in engagement when said circuit breaker is in said operating position; a control means operatively connected to a tirst of said secondary cooperating contacts of each pair of said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; said control means being operable to selectively operate plurality of pairs of s'econdary cooperating contacts into and out of engagement when said circuit breaker is in said test position; said cubicle including a cover plate having an aperture cut therein; said circuit breaker unit including a deep escutcheon operatively positioned within said aperture to enable said circuit breaker unit to be moved between said test and operating positions without removing said cover plate; said control means including an operating member mounted within a cubicle opening to enable said plurality of pairs of `secondary cooperating contacts to be moved into and out of engagement without opening said cubicle.
9. In a switchgear structure the combination of a cubicle and a circuit breaker unit disposed within said cubicle and movable between a test and an operating position; a plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts, each of Said pairs comprising a xed primary contact secured to said cubicle and a movable primary contact secured to said circuit breaker; each of said plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts beingengaged when said circuit breaker is in said operating position and being disengaged when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; each of said pairs of secondary cooperating contacts being in engagement when said circuit breaker is in said operating position; a control means operatively connected to a rst of said secondary cooperatinxY contacts of each pair of said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; said control means being operable to selectively operate said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into and out of engagement when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a second of said secondary cooperating contacts of each pair of said secondary cooperating contacts being secured to said circuit breaker and movable therewith; said rst of said secondary cooperating contacts being semi-stationary and secured to said cubicle.

In a switchgear structure the combination of a cubicle and a circuit breaker Iunit disposed within said cubicle and movable between a test and an operating position; a plurality of pairs of primary cooperating conk tacts, each of said pairs comprising a fixed primary contact secured to said cubicle and a movable primary contact secured to said circuit breaker; each of said plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts being engaged when said circuit breaker is in said operating position and being disengaged when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating .contacts being in engagement when said circuit breaker is in said operating position; a control means operatively connected to a rst of said secondary cooperating contacts of each pair of said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; said control means being operable to selectively operate plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into and out of engagement when said circuit breaker is in said test position;.a second of said secondary cooperating contacts being secured to said circuit breaker and movable therewith; said first of said secondary cooperating contacts being semi-stationary and secured to said cubicle; said control means comprising an operator, an operating member, a support member; said first secondary cooperating contact being secured to said support member; said support member being pivotally mounted to said cubicle; said operator being interposed between said operating member and said support member; said support member `being pivoted in response to movement of said operating member; an interlock operatively positioned to engage said control means and thereby render said control means 10 inoperable when said circuit breaker' unit is in said operatingrposition.

In a switchgear structure the combination of a cubicle and a circuit breaker unit disposed within said :cubicle and movable betweeny a test and an operating position; a plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts, each of said pairs comprising a fixed primary contact secured to said cubicle and a movable primary contact secured to said circuit breaker; each of said plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts being engaged when said circuit breaker is in said operating position and being disengaged when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts being in engagement when said circuit breaker is in said operating position; a control means operatively connected to a first of said secondary cooperating contacts of each pair of said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; said control means being operable to selectively operate plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into and out of engagement when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a second of said secondary cooperating contacts being secured to said circuit breaker and movable therewith; said first of said secondary cooperating contacts being semi-stationary and secured to said cubicle; said control means comprising an operator, an operating member, a support member; said first secondary cooperating contacts being secured to said support member; said support member being pivotally mounted to said cubicle; said operator being interposed between said operating member and said support member; said support member :being pivoted in response to movement o'f said operating member; an interlock operatively positioned to engage said control means and thereby render said control means inoperable when said circuit breaker unit is in said operating position; said interlock also being operatively engageable with said control means when said circuit breaker is moved from said test position to said operating position and thereby operate said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into engagement.

In a switchgear structure the combination of a cubicle and a circuit breaker unit disposed within said cubicle and movable between a test and an operating position; a plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts, each of said pairs comprising a fixed primary contact secured to said cubicle and a movable primary contact secured to said circuit breaker; each of said plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts being engaged when said circuit breaker is in said operating position and being disengaged when said circuit breaker 4is in said test position; a plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; each of said pairs of secondary cooperating contacts being in engagement with said circuit breaker is in said operating position; a control means operatively connected to a first of said secondary cooperating contacts of each pair of said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; said control means being operable to selectively operate plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into and out of engagement when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a second of said secondary cooperating contacts being secured to said circuit breaker and movable therewith; said rst of said secondary cooperating contacts being semi-stationary and secured to said cubicle; said control means comprising an operator, an operating member; a support member; said rst secondary cooperating contacts being secured to said support member; said support member being pivotally mounted to said cubicle; said operator being slidably mounted in said cubicle and including a cam slot; a follower pin operatively connected to said support member and positioned within said cam slot; said operating member being operatively connected to said operator to selectively control the motion of said support member; an interlock operatively positioned to engage said control means and thereby render said control means inoperable when said llt circuit-breaker unit isin saidoperating position; said interlock also being operatively engageable with said control means when said circuit breaker is` moved from said test position to said operating position and thereby operate said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into engagement; a first member secured to said cubicle and a second member secured to said circuit breaker unit and operatively positionable to partially overlap said rst member when said-circuit breaker unit is in said operating position to etectively isolate said plurality of pairs of primary and secondary cooperating contacts from each other.

In a switchgear structure the combination of a cubicle and a circuit breaker unit disposed within said cubicle and movable between a test and an operating position; a plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts, each of said pairs comprising a Xed primary contact secured to said cubicle and a movable primary contact secured to said circuit breaker; each of said plurality of pairs of primary cooperating contacts being engaged when said circuit breaker is in said operating position and being disengaged when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; each of said pairs of secondary cooperating contacts being in engagement When said circuit breaker is in said operating position; a control means operatively connected to a rst of said secondary cooperating contacts of each pair of said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts; said control means being operable to selectively operate a plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts into and out of engagement when said circuit breaker is in said test position; a second of said secondary cooperating contacts being secured to said circuit breaker and movable therewith; said tirst of said secondary cooperating contacts being l2 semi-stationary-and secured-to` said cubic1e;;said control meanscomprising an operator, anwoperatingmember, a support member; said first-secondary cooperating contacts being secured to said support member; said support member being pivotally mounted tosaid cubicle; said operator being slidably mounted insaid' cubicle and includinga cam slot; a follower pin operatively connected to-said support member and positionedwithin said cam slot; said operating member being operatively connected to said operator to selectively control the motion of the said support member; an interlock operatively positioned to engage said control means and thereby render said control means inoperable when said circuit breaker unit is in said operating position; said interlock also being operatively engageable with said control means when said circuit breaker is moved from said test position to said operating position and thereby. operate said plurality ofpairs of secondary cooperating contacts into engagement; said cubiclefincluding a cover plate having an aperture-cut therein; said circuit breaker unit including a deep escutcheon operatively positioned within said aperture to enable said circuit breaker unit to be moved between said test and operating positions without removing said cover plate; said operating member mounted within a cubicle opening 'to enable said plurality of pairs of secondary cooperating contacts to be moved into and out of engagement without opening said cubicle.
