1 Claim. (Cl. 40-111) This invention relates to a novel year-byyear calendar.
An object of the invention is to provide a year-by-year calendar in which the roll containing the months of the year, the year, and the days of t-he week may be changed at the end of each year, and is particularly directed to a novel arrangement of columns both on the rotating cylinder and the stationary container for the cylinder.
Another object is to provide horizontal columns on the container arranged both above and below the column on the cylinder in order that the days of the month may be located both above and below t-he column on the cylinder.
A further object is to provide indicia on both the upper and lower sides of a slot that discloses the days of the weed, the indicia being in alignment so that the box for the first day of the month is in vertical alignment with the box for the fteenth day of the month, and substantially one-half of the days of the month are indicated on either side of the said slot, thereby forming a compact easily read calendar.

With respect to the drawings, the calendar comprises a casing A having a slotted side 10, a longitudinally extending slot 12, a series of Ihorizontal . columns 14 and 16 located above and below the slot with indicia 15 and 24a located respectively in said columns. The ends of the casing are indicated by the reference numeral 18. Each end is provided with a centrally located aperture 20 for the shaft 22 of the roller or longitudinal cylinder 26. The cylinder is provided with ends 28, and the shaft 22 is provided with at least one knob 24 for manual turning of the roller.
Adhesively mounted on the roller is the removable sheet 30 containing a series of spaces '32 with indicia 34 in said spaces. Located to the left of the spaces 32, and forming `continuations of them, are enlarged spaces 36 containing indicia 38, designations indicating the month and -the year. The spaces 32 contain indicia 34, indicating the days of the week.
The upper and lower horizontal columns 14 and 16 respectively, contain the days of the month numerically arranged `whereby when the cylinder is turned so that a certain month and year, such as March 1954, shown in Figure 1, is indicated, the days of all Iof the weeks in that month may be instantly noted by referring to the spaces 32, and the horizontal columns 14 and 16, between which they are located. It will be noted that each day of the week is provided, both above .and below it,
with a numeral, except `that the 29th, 30th, and 31st of the month appear below the respective day of the week.
This invention, therefore, includes a calendar having a casing composed of four sides and a pair of ends, the ends having apertures extending through the same, the elongated cylinder in lthe casing having ends, the same being provided with shaft means extending through apertures in the casing ends. The invention also comprises the removable cylinder sheet, cylindrical in form and containing a plurality of spaces arranged in relationship to each other with indicia in the spaces arranged from left to right to designate in chronological Vorder at least two weeks as well as the month and the year. The invention also includes a plurali-ty of other rows of spaces with indicia parallel to the lirst said plurality of spaces, the casing sides having an opening o'f such width and length so as to expose at one time all of the appropriate days of the week on the cylinder corresponding with the numerals 4longitudinally arranged on the casing. The invention further comprises means for rotating the cylinder so as to simultaneously expose all corresponding day-s of the week and numerals therefor in a given month and year. Additionally, there are a plurality of spaces comprising a vfirs-t row arranged above the casing opening and containing indicia for the irst fourteen days of a month, with a plurality of spaces on the casing below the casing opening which contain indicia for the remaining days of any month, the spaces above and spaces below the opening being in vertical alignment with each other and with the spaces first .named on the cylinder. With this construction, the spaces on the cylinder may be read with either the upper or lower spaces on the casing.
I claim:
A calender having a casing composed of four sides and a pair of ends, said ends having apertures extending through the same, an elongated cylinder in said casing having ends, shaft lmeans comprising ends fixed to said cylinder ends and extending through said `apertures in said casing ends, a removable cylindrical sheet on said cylinder containing a plurality -of `spaces arranged in horizontal relation to each other, indicia in said spaces arranged from left to right, said indicia designating in chronological order the days of at least two weeks and containing indicia designating a month of the year, a plurality of other groups of spaces with indicia arranged parallel to the first group of spaces on said cylinder paper for the other months of the year, one of said casing sides having an opening of such width and length as to expose at one time all of the spaces of one group, means for rotating said cylinder so as to expose simultaneously all of the spaces of one group at one time, a plurality of spaces comprising a rst row arranged on said casing above said casing opening and con-taining indicia for the first fourteen days of a month, a plurality of spaces comprising a -second row arranged on said casing below said casing opening and containing indicia lfor the remaining days of any month, the spaces :above and the spaces below said opening being in vertical alignment with each other .and with the spaces first named on said cylinder whereby said last named spaces may be read -with either the upper or lower spaces on said casing.
