The charaeteristic tfeature t of "the inventionzconsists in mounting each "10f the 'two rclamping strips in a swivel hearing, which is displaceable preferably in the direction o'fthe axis of the form 'cylinder and about which-the corresponding clamping strip is rockable in a plane in which the clamping edge of the form cylinder is located.
The invention is represented by way of example by the accompanying drawings, of which:
Figure 1 is a section through the form cylinder of an offset machine with a metal sheet fixed thereon;
Figure 2 is an elevation of the clamping device represented in Figure 1, as seen from the right-hand side of Figure l, the right-hand end of the metal sheet being displaced downwards;

Figure 4 is a diagrammatic representation of a metal sheet in which the two ends have been displaced in opposite directions; and
Figure 5 is a diagrammatic representation of a metal sheet in which the two ends are displaced to the same side.
The clamping device is, as usual, accommodated in the gap of the oflfset cylinder 1. The metal sheet 2 is, at its front edge 3 and at its rear edge 4, held by two hook strips or clamping strips 5 and 6 which lie slidingly on the two supporting rails 7 and 8. The hook strips 5 and 6 are of angular shape. The strips 5 and 6 are mounted at their mid-points by swivel bearings in the form of ball-and- socket joints 9 and 10 respectively, of which the swivel bearing 9 is mounted on a lever 11,
and a swivel bearing 10 is mounted on a lever 12. ,The 7 2,737,887 Patented Mar. 13, 1956 12 111 :is: :mountedonv-asslidinzwaniece =14 bysa'rllill Z13 --=whilst.;theilever .112 isamountedmnzarslidinamiece 11.6.1123 .;a :pin 1-5. ;-;In additiqnrthesleternllthaszapin Island-the rleuer .12 hasaaain-IS. filhepins Hand :18 are cemented 5 aogether by a spning .19, so. that ends-of .zth ilever Aland. .12 are :pressed against a ielampingtserew 120 bythe aetienzotthis spring. 19. v
