LABEL AND TICKET RECEPTACLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 269,418, dated December 19, 1882, Application filed May 20. 1882. (Model) To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SAMUEL M. HOLTON, of Battle Creek, Calhoun county, Michigan, have invented a new and Improved Label and Ticket Receptacle, ofwhich thefollowingis a full, clear, and exact description.
The object of my invention is to provide a new and improved receptacle for labels, tags, or tickets, in which receptacle the labels, &c cannot get mixed, and from which they can be removed very easily.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in both figures.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of my improved receptacle for labels and tickets, and Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional elevation of the same.
A drawer or shallow box, A, is divided into a series of'compartments, B, according to the sizes of the tickets, labels, cards, tags, 860., to be placed therein, by a series of longitudinal and transverse strips, 0 and D, placed edgewise and crossing each other at right angles, which strips or partitions() and D are preferably about one-half an inch thick. Rods or wires E are passed through the longitudinal partitions 0 near the upper edges, so that the rods or wires E will cross the compartments transversely at or near the middle. The transverse partitions D are provided between each two longitudinal partitions O with a recess,
extending almost to the bottoms of the parti;
tions, and of sufficient size to admit a finger. The labels Gr, tags, &c., are placed in the compartments B and under the rods or Wires E, which hold the labels in their compartments and prevent mixing of the labels, &c. The
finger can be conveniently passed into the recesses F in the transverse partitions D for withdrawing or removing the labels. A number of these drawers or boxes can be combined in one case or box. These drawers will be found to be of the greatest convenience, as the tudinal and transverse partitions 0 D, the latter provided with recesses F at the ends of the compartments formed in the partitions, and 0t the wires 'E, extending transversely across the compartments at or near the middle of the same,
substantially as herein shown and described,
and for the purpose set forth.
SAMUEL M. HOLTON.
