LO CK FOR VEHICLE-TOPS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 269,147, dated December 12, 1882.
Application filed June 21, 1882. (Model To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JAMES WILSON, of Moundsville, in the county of Marshall and State of West Virginia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Adjustable Lock-Fastenings for Wagon-Tops; and I do hereby declare the following to be a clear and exact description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification.
This invention relates to an improved lockfastening for wagontops, which is made of around into the notch on the side of the cylinder holding the spring, thus putting the spring-bolt entirely out of the way.
, In the drawings, Figure l is a front view of my improved lock'fastening for wagon-tops. Fig. 2 isa side view thereof. Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional side view thereof.
'B is the groove which receives the bow of the wagon-top.
G is the bolt of the spring-lock, and E the lower piece with lock-mortise, which is fastened to the wagon-bed.
D is a groove in the part E, into which the part a slides, being held therein by the lock C.
By the use of this lock-fastening wagon-tops are made more secure, and are more easily taken off or put on, and time is thereby saved.
