The present invention is in respect of an arrangement for curtain runner boards of the kind which has one or more channels running in the longitudinal direction of the board and in the board itself, these channels being open towards one side of the board by means of a slit and in which are arranged running members for the fastening of curtains or the kind, the channels also being supplied with one or more locking instruments, in one position enabling the running members to be led into and removed from the channels and in another position prevent the running members to leave the channels.
It has heretofore been suggested to place the locking instruments at the ends of the channels. However, such an arrangement has certain disadvantages that render it unsuitable for use with cornices and it also is unsuitable for us when a curtain mantle or the kind is fastened to the edge of the board.
The above mentioned disadvantages are eliminated according to the present invention, which is characterized in that in one or mor cavities, extending into at least one channel slit, a disk which is turnable around an axle being at right angles to the plane of the board, serves as the locking instrument. This disk being shaped and dimensioned in such a way as to render it possible for the running members to be led into and removed from the channels and to enable them to pass by the disk in the longitudinal direction of the channel, and also to prevent the running members from leaving the channels at other angle positions to the disk.
The invention is further made apparent in connection with the drawing, where Fig. 1 is a bottom plan view of one form of construction according to the invention;
Fig. 2 is a cross-section taken on line AA in Fig. 1;
Fig. 3 shows a longitudinal section of a modified construction according to the invention, and
Fig. 4 is a top view of th locking member mounted in the board as shown in Fig. 3;
Fig. 5 is a bottom view of the locking member;
Fig. 6 is a cross-section taken on line B-B in Fig. 3;
Fig. '7 shows a third form of construction as seen from the bottom of the runner board, and
Fig. 8 shows a cross-section taken on line AA in Fig. '7.
The board I has two channels 2 each having a C-cross section and running in the longitudinal direction of the board with a slit open towards one side of the board. In these channels there are running members in the shape of balls 6 with books I attached to them. Curtains or 2 the like are fastened onto the hooks of these running members.
With regard to the form of construction according to Figs. 1 and 2 a disk 4 rotatably mounted on a screw 5 is positioned in a cavity 3 of the board between the channels 2. The disk 4 has semi-circular recesses 4 formed in opposite sides thereof. In Figs. 1 and 2 the disk is shown when closed. When the disk is turned at 90, the cavities 4 are brought to lie facing the channels 2, thus rendering it possible to remove the balls from the channels or to lead them into the channels through the opening thus formed. As shown in Fig. 2 slots are formed at 8, whereby the openings for inserting or removing th balls become larger.
In regard to the method of construction as per Figs. 3-6 the axle l5 of the disk 4 extends through a plate 9 which lies in a cavity 3 between the two slits 2 of the channels of a board I As will be noticed said disk is fastened to the axle IE on the inside of plate 9 and rests in a cavity H in plate 9. An operating button I3 is fastened to the axle on the exterior of plate 9. The plate 9 is in its turn fastened to the board I by means of two screws Ill. The plate has two semi-circular side recesses l6 which, when the disk is placed so as to be open makes it possible for the balls 8 to, be inserted or removed from.

The axl l5 has at its inner end a head l4 positioned in a cavity I2 of board l According to the forms of construction as per Figs. 78 the thickness of the disk 4 is such that it extends down to such depth of the channel 2' that the insertion or removal of the running members 6 from the channel is simplified without special measures having to be taken.
Further, in accordance .with the form of construction disclosed, the side or sides of th disk 4 that are turned towards a channel, when the position of the disk is for preventing the running members escape from the channels 2 are lying contiguous with the wall of said channel, which facilitates the passing-by of the disk by th running members in the longitudinal direction of the channel and prevents the turning of the disk when the running members pass by.
The curtain running board l has two channels 2*, in which are placed the running member 6 with hooks 1 for hanging up curtains or the kind. A disk 4* is turnable around an axle, consisting of a screw 5 The thickness of said disk, i. e. the cavity for the disk is so deep, that it reaches down to the widest part of the circular channels 2 The disk 0 is shown when in locked position.
When it is turned to 90, the cavities 4 in the disk will lie turned towards the channels 2 These cavities 4 make it possible for the running members 6 to be inserted or removed from the channels 2 When the disk according to the designs is in such a position that it prevents the running members from leaving th channels, both sides of the disk that are turned towards the channels 2 extend contiguous with the wall of the channel 2 Naturally the method of construction shown can be made to vary within the frame of theinvention.
I claim:
1. A curtain track comprising an elongated runner board having a bore provided therein, said runner board further having a slot provided in one face thereof with said slot being communication with and providing a restricted passageway to said bore, said board further having a recess formed in the slotted race thereof being in communication with a side of said slot, a sidewall of said slot ,be'ingtinden'ted at the ,point of communication of said recess therewith and a disc having an indented side portion and rotatably mounted in said board recess with an edge portion of said disc extending partially across saidslot in one position of said disc and the indented side of said disc providing a passageway with said indented sidewall being in communication with said bore when said disc is in a second position.
2. 'A curtain runnerrboard comprising an elongatedrunnerboard having apair of spaced apart bores provided therein, said runner board further vhaving a pair of spaced apart .slots provided in one face thereof witheach of said Slots being in communication with and providing a restrictedpassageway to one of said bores, said boardzalso-having a recess .provided in the slotted face thereof between and communicating with said slots, a sidewall of each *of ;said slots being indented and extending intosaid recess, a disc having av pair of indented side portions and rtatably mounted in said .recess, and said disc being capable of extending partially across said sidewall indentions andsaid slots when in one position and saiddisc indented-sides providing a passageway in line with said slot sidewall indentations when disc in a second; position.
3. A curtain runner board comprising an elongated runner board having a pair ofspaced apart bores extending longitudinally "therein, said runner board 'further having a pair of spaced apart-slots provided in one'face thereof and each slot extending paralleland communi- .mounted within said board recess, a disc rotatzablyamounted in said plate recess and having a pair of indented :peripheral portions, means for rotating said disc and said disc being capable cf extending across said grooves in one position and :having its indented portions in line with said-grooves when in a second position.
:5. .Acurtain runner board comprising an elongated runner board having a pair of spaced apart bores extending longitudinally thereof, said board also having a ,pair of spaced apart slots provided in one face thereof each forming a restricted passageway from the face of said board to one-of said bores, .said board further having a .recess provided in the slotted face thereof opening into-saidbores and saidslots, a'disc rotatably mounted in .said board recess having a pairof diametricallylopposed edge portions-each capable ,in one position'ofsaid disc of extending to and contiguous with -:a :sidewall-of -one of said slots, and said disc shaving 'a pairof diametrically opposed indentededge portions each capable of providing a passageway through said recess to .one of said bores :whensaid disc-is in a second position.
6. A curtain runnerboard comprising an ,elongated'runner board having a pair o'f spaced bores each defined'by a wall of: an annular cross section and extending longitudinally through 'the length thereof, .said board "also having a pair of slots formed :in :a 'face Tthereof each extending parallel with :one of said :bores, side 'walls idefining each of said slots extendingfrom a-face of said board to an intermediate portion of its respective borewall, said'tboard further thaving a recess formed in the slotted 'facethereof defined'by an annular side wall and a flat bottom wall which extends between and 'to'the'wall's of saidbores, said board recess side wall having a pai'r of diametrically opposed openings each in common with a sidewall or one of sai'd slots, a disc -being rota'tably connectedto sai'dreces's bottom wall having a pair of diametrically opposed fiat edge portions each capable of extending into one of said recess sidewall openings and'being contiguouswith asidewall of one of 'said slots when said discis in-"one position and said 'disc' fdrther'having 'a -pai'r o'f diametrically opposed indented edgeportions capable of providing a passageway to-one or said boreswh'e'n said [indentedportions "are facing said recess sidewall openings in'asecond positionof said disc.
