2 Claims.
This invention relates to a combined can puncturing and can holder device.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a combined can puncturing and can holder device wherein the cover for the can holder has puncturing elements upon the same which can be used to puncture the can and thereafter the can with the cover can be attached to the main body of the holder.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a combined can puncturing and can holder device wherein there is within the closure element a drain member through which the liquid can be dispensed, the opening being provided in one of the puncturing elements and wherein the other puncturing element has an opening through which air can pass to allow for the easy pouring of the contents of the can through the one opening.
Other objects of the invention are to provide a combined can puncturing and can holder device which is of simple construction, inexpensive to manufacture, has a minimum number of parts, easy to operate, sanitary, of pleasing appearance and efficient in operation.
For other objects and for a better understanding of the invention, reference may be had to the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which:

Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view of the device taken on line 22 of Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a collective and perspective view of the device with the can puncturing closure cover elevated above the main receptacle. 6
Fig. 4 is a fragmentary bottom plan view of the closure cover and looking upon the ends of the puncturing elements.
Referring now to the figures, represents a main receptacle having a threaded upper end I I into which may be fitted a can l2 of evaporated milk or other liquid. Before placing this can l2 in the receptacle III a closure cap or cover l3 having puncturing elements l4 and I5 is pressed into the top of the can I2 in such a manner as to provide openings It and H respectively. Once the can has been punctured and the closure is fitted down over the top of the can, the holder or receptacle It] can be threaded into flange ll! of the closure cap or cover I3. A cow configuration I9 is flxed to the top of the cover I3 and can serve as a handle for effecting the screwing action of the cover l3 upon the receptacle H). A sleeve projection 2| located adjacent the cows nose and appearing as a feeding bucket will serve to discharge the contents from the can l2. Puncturing element [4 has a hole 22 therein through.
which the liquid can pass. The puncturing element M has a flange 23 by which it is secured in the closure cap. The puncturing element may be rotated at times when it may be desired to ofiset the hole 22 from hole 24. A rubber washer 25 is fitted in the bottom of the cover I3 and will bear against the top of the can 12 to effect a good sealing engagement therewith and prevent leakage of the liquid from around the puncturing element and confine the flow of the liquid through the opening 22.
The puncturing element l5 has a hole 26 that is aligned with a hole 21 in the cap l3. This puncturing element I5 is connected in the closure cap in the same manner as the large puncturing element [4 is connected in the closure cap. Through these openings 26 and 21 air may pass to allow the contents of the can to be poured readily therefrom.
It will now be apparent that there has been provided a combined can puncturing and can holder device where the puncturing elements are embodied in the closure cap for the receptacle which holds the can and wherein the connection of the closure cap with the can to the main receptacle is effected by a mere threading operation. If the can is punctured before the closure cap and the receptacle ID are joined together the threading operation is easily effected. If however, the puncturing is to be done as the receptacle I0 is threaded onto the flange [8 of the closure cap I3 a slightly more force will be used.
However, it will be seen that puncturing can be done at this time and by the mere screwing action of the receptacle I!) to the cap 13. The cow configuration 19 serves as the handle and is an integral part of the closure cap l3.
While various changes may be made in the detail construction, it shall be understood that such changes shall be within the spirit and scope of the present invention as defined by the appended claims.
What is claimed is:
1. A combined can puncturing and can holder device comprising a main receptacle for receiving a can and having an external threaded end, a closure cap having a depending internallythreaded flange adapted to fit over the threaded end of the receptacle upon relative rotational movement being effected therebetween, dispensing puncturing elements, at least one thereof having a circular flanged base and a triangular cutting portion depending from said base, said punc- 3 turing elements being adapted to penetrate the top of the can as the threading action of the receptacle and closure cap is efiected, said cap having a circular peripherally-flanged recess in the bottom thereof, said one of the puncturing elements having an oil. center hole disposed therein, a hollow spout projecting upwardly from the top of the cap, said spout having a bottom with an off center hole connecting with said recess, the flange of the base of the one of said puncturing elements rotatably engaging within the flanged recess in the closure cap beneath the spout and rotatable to have its hole movable into and out of registry with said hole in the bottom of the spout, and an elongated turning handle extending upwardly from said cap.
' Number 2. A combined can puncturing and can holder device as defined in claim 1 in which the flanged base of the one puncturing element is at least the size of said flange and spaced from the triangular cutting portion to leave a groove in which there is said flange of said recess of said cap, and a sealing ring within said groove.
