SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 266,345, dated October 24, 1882. Application filed May 2:2. 1882. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern Be it known that 1, ROBERT A. BURNETT, a citizen ot'the United States, residing at Washington Court-House, in the county of Fayette and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Tobacco-Gutter, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a rotary cutter carried by a bent hand-lever supported in a suitable frame.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which is presented a side view of the machine.
A represents a cast-iron frame, having a broad base at the rear, through which it is screwed to the base-board B. The forward part of base curves upwardly, corresponding to the traverse curve ofthe cutters edge, which edge moves within a groove of the base. From the base two arms extend upward, and to the top of these are pivoted the angular hand-lever F. The lower end of this lever is forked, and to which the circular cutter E is pivoted.
The cutter is made of plate-steel. The edge is beveled and made sharp, and the arc of its 25 claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 3 5
The frame A, with groove in base forthe traverse of the circular cutter E, the outer face of said base having a corresponding curve to that ofthe travel of the cutters edge, these 40 parts in combination with the curved handle F, substantially as shown and set forth.
