1. In a knockdown table, a top having depending portions near its side edges adjacent to each end with vertical grooves therein in oppositely Spaced relation, two pairs of legs each pair having a cross-piece connecting the upper ends of its legs, the cross-piece of each pair having end tenons for vertical insertion into the oppositely spaced grooves in the respect've depend-ing portions of the top and for binding engagement with r the groove walls when the respective cross-pieces are outwardly canted, the legs of each pair being laterally springable from normal relation to the cross-pieces, and a brace frame connecting the pairs of legs intermediate their ends and having at each end a cross-piece disposed between and sprung into interengaging connection with the opposed legs or the respective pair whereby the pairs of legs are sprung outwardly lengthwise of the top and the legs of each pair are held in slightly outwardly spaced relation crosswise of thetopr I
w 2. Ina knockdown table, a top having depending portions in its side edges adjacent to each end with vertical grooves therein in oppositely spaced relation, two pairs of legs each having a cross-piece connecting the-upper ends of its legs, the cross-piece of each pair having end .tenons for vertical insertion into the oppositely spaced grooves in-the respective end portions of the top and {or binding engagementwith the groove walls when the respective cross-pieces are outwardly canted, the legs of each pair being laterally springable from normal relation to the crosspieces and each having intermediate its ends, on the side thereof facing the other leg, a horizontal cross recess extending outwardly from an inner edge and terminating short of the opposing edge to form a guide recess, each of said recesses having a laterally outwardly extending socket, and a brace frame .connecting the pair of legs and having at each end a cross-piece disposed between and sprung into interengaging connection with the opposed legs of the respective pair, whereby the pairs of legs are sprung outwardly lengthwise of the top and the legs of each pair are held in slightly outwardly spaced relation crosswise of the top, each brace cross-piece seating in the recess of a respective leg when the brace is in leg bracing position.
