Abstract
449,429. Collapsable furniture. SASSE, 0., and SASSE, C., (trading as SASSE, GEB.), Sperrholzfabric, Holzminden-on-Weser, Germany. July 10, 1935, No. 19747. Convention date, July 10; 1934. [Classes 52 (ii), 52 (iii), and 52 (v)] In a collapsable wooden bench, table, stand, stool, or like article of furniture, the legs are detachably connected to the top or seat by tongue and groove joints c, d between frame members or border strips band boards d each connecting two of the legs e, the tongues and grooves extending longitudinally of the legs. As shown, each pair of legs is connected by a pair of boards d, the ends d<1> of which slide into vertical grooves c in the side members b. By inclining the grooves, the legs may be given a straddled position. The side members bare attached to the top &c. by rails h at the centre only, and exert a resilient pressure inwards on the leg boards d.
