WARP-SHED DIVIDER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 263,303, dated August 29, 1882.
Application filed March 13, 1882. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JosEPrr BERRY, of Bowenville, in the city of Fall River, of the county of Bristol, of the State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in I/Varp-Shed Dividers; and I do hereby declare the same to be described in the following specification and represented in the accompanying drawings, of which-- Figure 1 is a side view, Fig. 2 a top view, Fig. 3 a longitudinal section, and Fig. 4 a transverse section,of adivider of my improved kind.
The divider in use in England, and termed the Moss warp-shed, consists of a bar of Wood pointed or tapering at one end, grooved in two of its opposite edges, and curved transversely on its top and bottom surfaces, and having such surfaces covered with metallic facings held in place by being each bent to extend short distances within the edgegrooves. A warp-divider so made, though highly useful, is objectionable, as the wooden portion of it is liable to shrink and allow one or both the metallic facings to slip ofi' or out of place on it. It is also liable to become warped more or less.
In constructing my improved warp-divider I form it throughout nearly its entire length of a straight metallic tube, A, made of plate metal, and shaped transversely as represented in Fig. 4, and I insertfirml'y in and so as to project from one end of it a wooden toe, B, and also in the opposite end a wooden heel or stopper, 0, the divider between the toe and heel pieces being hollow. I claim As an improved article of manufacture, a warp-shed divider consisting of the metallic tubular body A and the wooden toe B and heel 0, arranged and constructed substantially as set forth.
