.IThis inventionrelates to a counter. display card and .package .for. snap fastener elements of the :type that .can. be attachedeasily to'garments in thehome.

In supplying snap fasteners for attachment to garments in the home, it is necessary to provide .inaddition to the socket the stud elements themselves, means for attaching. each of those parts.

.This can be in the form of. a prong ring and for :more detailed description of one common type of .such.snap;fasteners, reference may be had to Fenton Patent No. 2,131,347. It is desirable in many .instances to combine with .one of the prong rings ardecorative coverv cap such as mother of pearl,

simulated pearl. or other types of ornaments.

A display card for this combination of elements presents some difficulty in that. the prong rings have sharp points which must be protected and cannot be attached directly to the card, and when decorative covers are used with the prong rings .it" is desirable to have the ornamental side always exposed to view on the card. The socket and stud elements themselves can be snapped together in holes in the card.

, According to our invention an inverted cupshaped transparent member is placed against the card to provide a storage compartment and is detachably held to the card by the socket and stud elements snapped through holes in the cards and cooperating. with the rim of the transparent member with the prong rings confined in the compartment between such member and card. The distance between the raised portion of the cupshaped member and card is substantially the same as the overall height of the prong ring which carries the decorative cover 'so that those members cannot be disturbed from the original position and always present the ornamental side to view.

Referring now to the accompanying drawing illustrating a preferred embodiment of the invention, wherein Fig.. 1 is.a,plan..view of the'support card with the snap fastener elements and a transparent compartment member attached thereto.

This display card It is intended primarily to market a special ornamental type of snap fastener to beused where a part of the fastener is to be exposed on a garment such as on dresses, sport shirts, nurses uniforms or as a cuff link.

.To this end one of the'prongedrings 24a'is adorned; with an ornamental .cap' 2 5 such as synthetic pearl or glass crystal held upon the pronged ring by a retaining ferrule 26 (see Fig. 7).

In making up a display card there will be placed both the regular attaching ring 24 as well as the special ornamental ones 24a into the compartment IS. The fact that the compartment member I2 is made of transparent material will clearly show the character of the attaching ring ornamentation so that a choice can be made from the counter display for matching the fastener to a particular type of colored garment.

To show the ornamental pronged rings 24a to best advantage the rings 24a are assembled into the compartment [5 with the pointed ends of the prongs resting against the face of the card l and the ornamental cap 25 uppermost so as to be seen through the transparent cap I2. To hold the pronged rings 24a in the above position the height of the base of the cupped section [3' of the cap l2 above the face of the card In is substantially the same as the decorative prong ring so as to prevent the ornamental pronged rings 24a from loosely juggling or tumbling around in the compartment !5 such as might cause them to tilt upon their sides or' become inverted in the normal handling of the display card.

As a modification of the patent drawing disclosure, it is conceivable that the lugs 16 and openings I! could be omitted from the rim J4 of the compartment 12 and to rely on the rim 14 itself engaged underneath the adjacent portions of the stud and socket members attached to the card and detachably hold said member l2 against the face of said card. This form of invention would eliminate the need of having to aline a number of openings in making the assembly. 7

While the form of invention herein shown and described embraces a preferred embodiment of the same, it is to be understood that the construction may be varied without departing fromthe spirit of the invention and the scope of what is claimed.

We claim: 1. A displaypackage for complemental snap fastener element having common attaching members and comprising a card having a series of complemental snap fastener elements detachably secured to the card, a transparent hollow member providing with the face of the card a closed compartment for storing the attaching members to be used in assembling the fastener elements to a garment, and means on said transparent member cooperating with said snap fastener elements to maintain said transparent member in detachable engagement with said card.

2. A display package for complemental snap fastener elements having common attaching members and comprising a card having a series of complemental snap fastener elements decured to said card.

3. A display package for complemental snap fastener elements having common attaching members and comprising a card having a series 4 of openings, a transparent cup-shaped member having a radially extending rim flange disposed against the face of said card, said rim flange having a series of openings arranged to aline with said card openings, complemental snap fastener elements having detachable engagement through the aligned openings in said card and rim flange to hold said cup-shaped member against the face of said card and which provides therewith a closed compartment, said compartment serving to store said snap fastener attaching members in visible display upon the card.

A display package for complemental snap fasteners including stud and socket parts and prong ring attaching members at least some of which have ornamental cover caps, a card having a series of holes, a transparent cup-shaped member disposed in inverted position on the face of said card, said member having a fiat rim with holes to match the holes in the card and a flat raised central portion spaced from the card substantially the same as the overall height of the ornamented prong rings to confine them in position to expose the ornamented side to view, and said cup-shaped member being detachably held on the card by the stud and socket parts snapped together through said matching holes.

A display package for complemental snap fasteners including stud and socket parts and having common attaching members some of which are provided with ornamental caps, said package comprising a card having a series of complemental fastener elements detachably secured to the card, a transparent cup-shaped member having a radially extending rim flange disposed against the face of the card, said cupshaped member and adjacent face of the said card providing a closed compartment for storing the attaching members to be used in assembling the fastener elements to a garment, and said rim flange being held between the stud and socket parts which are snapped together through holes in the card, the height of the base of said cup-shaped member above the face of the card being such as to prevent the ornamental attaching member from loosely tumbling around in said compartment.
