An important object of the 'invention isto provide a device of this character which maybe readily and easily mounted on a shaperfence, eliminating the necessity of making alterations in the usual shaper constructionftom'ount the device; v i
.Anotherobject of the invention is to provide a stock'feeding attachment which issimple designand capable of positive adjustmentg'in suring 'the accurate fast and safe", operation of the saw or shaper with which the device is used.
A still'further'obj'ect' of the invention 'is to provide .a wood stock feeding device" which will firmly 'hol'dthe wood stock downon' the shaper machine table, preventing slipping of the work which :usually'fresults in damage and scarring of..the"stock." With the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as' the description proceeds, the inVention-consists of certain novel-details of. construction and arrangements of parts'h'ere inafter more fully described and pointed out in the claim, it being understood that changes may be'made i'nL the construction and arrangement of parts without departing from the spirit of the invention as' claimed.

The shaft 30 that extends from the reduction gear housing '23, provides a support for the sprocket 3| over which the chain 32 operates, the chain 32 also operating over the sprocket 33 se.- cured to the shaft 34 so that rotary movement of the shaft 30 is directed to the shaft 34 and sprocket 33.
' The shaft 30 operates in bearings 33' which shaft also operates through bearings 34 and 35,
that is secured to the mo forming a part of the plates 36 and 3? respectively, the bearings being disposed between the bearings 34', as clearly shown by Fig. 5 of the drawings.
The plate 36 is formed with elongated openings 38 that align with openings 39 of the plate 40 that carries bearings 4! in which the shaft 12 operates, the shaft 42 providing a support for the friction roller 43 which is constructed preferably of rubber, to grip the work tof'eed the work without slipping. V
Cooperating with the plate 37, is the bearing plate 44 that has openings 45 for the reception of bolts that also pass through the elongated openings 46 of the plate 31 in securing thebearing plate 44 to the plate 31.
The bearings 41 extend from one edge of the plate 44 and support the shaft 48 on one end of which the friction roller 4a is secured to rotate therewith. The shaft 43 also supports the sprocket'SH-at one of its ends over which sprocket the chain 51 operates, which chain also operates overi the sprocket'52a that isflsecuredto the outer end of the shaft 30; 1
\The chain 53 opera-tesover-the sprocket 34 secured to shaft 30, and-also operates; over the sprocket 54 secured to the shaft 42. Thus it will be seen that due to this construction, thefriction or'fe'ed rollers 43 and 49 will be'rotated in the same'direction to feed the'woo'd stock to the woodworking tool of themachine .b-y frictional contact therewith. Dueto 'the elongated openings of the plates 36; and 31, it willf be obvious that adjustment of the bearing plates-48 and 44 may-be'had, to adjustthe positions of the feed rollers 43 and 49-. Itwill also be noted that the shafts 42 and 48 maybe slightly adjusted an'gularly in a horizontal plane'and with respect to the fence of the woodworkingmachine, to :cause the feed rollers 43 and-49 to urge the stockunder treatment, into close'engagement with the fence 8 of the woodworking machine insuringa trueoperation of the-"woodworking tool 55 of the machine. .Rising from the supportin plate 2!, is the post 56 which has a right angled end 51' bolted to the plate 2 i by means of the bolt 58, the upper end'of the post56 extending at right angles providing the flange 58' formed with an opening through which the threaded shank 60 operates,
the shank 69 being provided with the operating bar-.51 and handle 62 by means of which the bar Stand shank 60 are rotated. I
The shank Ell extends through the nut 63 that is welded to the underside of the cross bar 54- directlyunder an opening which is in alignment with the threaded shank 6-6: A reinforcing flange 65 extends downwardly from one longitudinal edge of the cross bar 64 bracing the cross bar against bending under excessive strain.
Formed. in the cross bar 64 adjacent to the ends thereof are openings in which the bolts 66 operate, the bolts 66 also operating through open ings formed in the inwardly extended ends 61 of the upstanding bars 68, the bars 68 being pivotally connected with the plates 48 and 44 respectively so that vertical pivotal movement of the plates 48 and 44 will be permitted and guided.
Coiled springs 69 are mounted on the bolts 66 with their upper ends bearing against the cross bar 64, the lower ends thereof resting on the ends 8]. This construction permits of" vertical movement of the rollers 43 and 49 under the pressure of the springs 69, to hold the feed rollers to their work.
- From the foregoing it will be seen that due to the construction shown and described, I have provided'a stock feeding means for use in connection with shaper-saws or other woodworking machines, so that the work under treatment will be fed. evenly and accurately to the woodworking tool of the machine, without danger of the Work moving laterally, from a given path, and without danger of injury to the hands of the operator.
It will also be seen that the device may be readily and easily clamped onto thefence of the usualwoodworking machine without the necessity of using tools such as wrenches or the like to secure the attachment.

In a power stock feeding device, a base,,means for securing the base to the fence of a wood working machine, a pair of stationary platesshaving bearings, mounted on the base, a shaft operating insaid bearings, said stationary plates extending laterally from the shaft in opposite directions, said stationary plateshave elongated openings, independent adjustable--plates having openings fitted onthestationaryplates in overlapping relation therewith; bolts extending through the openings ofsaid; overlapping plates securing thestationary plates and. adjustable plates together, whereby theadjustable plates are adjusted to various angular positionswith respect to the stationary plates, pressure roller shafts mounted on the adjustable plates, rubber faced pressure rollers mounted on: the shafts,v
adapted to engage and feed stock through the machine, and means for rotating said pressure rollers.
