1 This invention relates to electric heating pads in combination with supporting means whereby a pad may be retained in different positions over the human body, and in particular a belt formed of adjustably connected sections and a heating pad with a container or envelope in which the pad with the envelope thereon may be attached to the belt by snap fasteners whereby the pad may be carried at different points on the belt. The purpose of this invention is to provide an electric heating pad support which is readily adjustable so that a pad may be positioned at different points on the body.

Various types of supporting devices have been provided for holding electric heating pads in different positions upon the human body but where belts or straps are attached to theends of envelopes or containers in which electric heating pads are positioned it is difiicult to position the pad exactly where the heat therefrom is desired.

With this thought in mind this invention contemplates a pad holder having a snap fastener extended through the intermediate part of the pad and holder and adapted to be snapped to a coacting snap section on a sliding collar that is positioned to travel around a belt and wherein the belt is formed of a plurality of sections for facilitating strapping the belt to different parts of the body.

The object of this invention is, therefore, to provide mounting means for an electric heating pad whereby the pad is suspended from a centrally positioned point thereon on a collar slidably mounted on an adjustable belt.

Another object of the invention is to provide an electric heating pad support in which the pad is completely enclosed in an envelope or container and wherein the pad is supported through the walls of the envelope so that the pad is completely enclosed and at the same time positively supported.

A further object of the invention is to provide an electric heating pad container and support which is of a simple and economical construction.

With these and other objects and advantages in view the invention embodies a belt formed with a plurality of adjustably connected sections, a heating pad having a snap fastener thereon, a collar having a snap fastener thereon slidable on the belt and mounted with the snap fastener positioned to coact with a similar fastener on the heating pad, and a heating pad container and pad combination having snap fastener elements extended therethrough and positioned to coact with the snap fastener of the collar on the belt.

Figure 2 is a sectional plan through a portion of the rear section of the belt illustrating the eyelets and hooks for adjustably connecting the ends of the belt sections at the rear.

Figure 3 is a sectional plan through the electric heating pad envelope with parts of the envelope broken away showing snap fastener sections extended through the envelope and pad.

Figure 4 is a, detail illustrating the female section of a snap fastener secured on one side of the electric heating pad.

Figure 5 is a detail looking toward the inner side of the sliding collar showing the male section of a snap fastener on the inner surface thereof.

Figure 6 is a detail showing an eyelet in the I wall of the envelope orcontainer and through which the male member of the snap fastener of the collar extends to engage the snap fastener section of the electric heating pad.

Referring now to the drawings wherein like reference characters denote. corresponding parts the improved electric heating pad support of this invention includes a belt formed with sections l0 and II, a collar [2 slidably mounted on the belt, an electric heating pad 13, and an envelope M in which the electric heating pad is positioned.

The belt section II] is provided with a plurality of eyelets [5 that are positioned to receive a hook IS on an end I! of the belt section II and the section II of the belt is provided with eyelets 18 that are positioned to receive the hook I9 carried by an end 20 of the section H] of the belt.

As illustrated in Figures 1 and 2 the end of the belt section I0 is folded over to provide a socket 2|, with the end 20 secured by stitching 22 to the inner surface of the section III. The elongated eye or base section 23 of the hook l9 extends through the loop formed at the end of the belt section It and the elongated eyelet or base section 24 of the hook [6 extends through a similar loop 25 formed by the end I! of the section II of the belt.

The opposite end 26 of the belt section It! is secured to the end 21 of the belt section II by a snap fastener 28 and similar snap fasteners and 3B of the electric heating pad I3.

The electric heating pad-i3 is'provided with a cord 49 having'a plug 4! on thaouter end and an extension cord 42 havinga p lug;43 on the outer end and a socket 44 on theinner end may extend from the plug, as shown in Fig-. 1.

With the parts arranged in thismannenthe electric heating pad'withthe envelope thereon is mounted through the snap fastenerelements at the center and the snap fasteneron the-collar l2 whereby the electric heating pad maybe turned to difierent positions-and the size of-the belt is readilyadjustable to correspondwith different parts-of the bodyupon whichit is desired to position the pad. 1 r

It will be understood that although snap fasteners are illustrated and described as'used on the electric heating pad, .envelopa'and collar, fasteners of any suitable type mayibe used and although the sections of the belt are connected at the rear by hooks extended through eyelets the sections of the belt may be adjustably connected by any suitablemeans.

It will be understood that other modifications may be made in the design and arrangementof the parts withoutdeparting from the spirit of the invention.

What is claimed is:

1. An electric heating pad support comprising a plurality of beltsections, means'for adjustably connecting the belt sections at the back, means for adjustably connecting the said belt sections at the front, a collar slidably mounted on the said belt sections, anelectric heating pad, a cloth envelope in which the said electric hea'tingpad is positioned; centrally positioned snap fastener elements mounted in the said heating pad, eyelets in the walls of'theenvelope positioned to register with the snap fastener elements on the heating pad, and asnap fastener element on the 4 said collar positioned to extend through eyelets in the sides of the envelope and into snap fastener elements in the sides of the electric heating pad.

2. An electric heating pad support comprising a plurality of belt sections, hooks on the rear ends of the belt sections, eyelets in the rear ends of the belt sections for receiving the said hooks for adjustably connecting the belt sections at the back, means for adjustably connecting the said belt sections at the front, a collar slidably mounted on the said belt sections, an electric heating pad, an envelope in which 7 the said electric heating pad is positioned, centrally positioned snap fastener elements mounted in the said heating pad, eyelets in the walls of the envelope, positioned to register with the snap fastener'elements on the heating pad, a snap fastener element on the said collar positioned to extend through eyelets in the sides of the envelope andinto snap fastener elements in the sides of the electric heating pad, and snap fastener elements on theenvelope for closing the said envelope.

An electric heating pad support comprising a plurality of beltseetions, hooks on the rear ends of the belt sections, eyelets in the rear ends of the belt sections for receiving the said hooks for adjustably connecting the belt sections at the back, snap fasteners for adjustably connecting the said belt sections at the front, a collar slidably mounted on the said belt sections, I an electric heating pad, an envelopein which the said electric heating-pad is positioned, centrally positioned snap fastener elements mounted in the saidheating pad, eyelets in the walls of the envelope, positioned to register with the snap fastener elements on the heating pad, a'snap fastener element on the said collar positioned to extend through eyelets in the sides of the "envelope and into snap fastener elements in the sides of the electric heating pad, and snap fastener elements on the envelope for closing the said envelope. s I
