Patented July 15,- 1952 This invention relates to .an improved, holder forf supporting and storing, flat irons"; and par ent invention is concerned with the provision of an improved holder for a laundry? iron' which holder; will; support and store; the. iron inTayertl'cal'i'po'sition, and which maybereadily attached to a wall or similar supnorting surface; The e; therefore, are the general objectsof'the present invention.
A more specific object of the present invention is to provide a holder for supporting and storing alaundry iron, which holder may be readily'and economically manufactured, and which will be constructed so as. to enable its; use with various types'of irons. v V v further object offlthe' present invention is to provide a light weight laundry iron holder for storing laundry irons, which holder will be constrn'cted so that when hot irons are placed there.-

My improved-iron holder comprises two formed wire members and 20. Each member comprises a. enerally U-shaped bent single strand of comparatively rigid wire. As shown in Figs. 1 and 5, the wire strand-of the; U-shaped member I0 is Iormed or bent to provide a pair'of vertically ex, tending portions or arms I l joined atltheir bases by a transverse horizontal portion or cross bar [2.

Inasmuch as the iron is tilted, the forward movement of the upper end of the iron is prevented by the portions 22 of the member I 0 and such thrust is transmitted directly to the member ID through the upper horizontal cross bar 25 independent of the welds. Spreading of the lower side arms 21 is prevented by the vertically extending arms I I of the member ID which embrace such side arms.
Likewise the upper and lower side arms 24 and 21 are retained vertically V spaced by the member I0 which, as shown, en-' gages the under surface of the arms'2! and the upper surface of the arm 25.
From the foregoing description it be seen that the device may be readily manufactured" with a minimum expense, and when constructed will'be substantially rigid and accordinglymay be; used to support comparatively heavy irons.

bers, each of. said members comprising a single strand of bent wire and having a pair-of sub-; stantially vertically extending-horizontally spaced bar portions, one pair being joined-at its lower end by a transverse bar portion and the other pair having their upper ends bent rearwardly and joined by a transverse bar portion, the first named 1 pair having their upper ends secured to the trans-v verse bar portion of the other-member and bent rearwardly therefrom'and terminating in wall engaging eyes, the second member being inverted andhaving itsvertically extending bar portions inclined inwardly and downwardly. toward each other and downwardly and inwardly toward the substantially vertical barportions of the other member and having their lower ends bent rearwardly and then downwardlyproviding -re arwardly extending portions and downwardly extending wallengaging portions-said last named portions terminating in: upwardly openin forwardly, extending shook-like portions, and wherein the-junction ofthe vertical bars and rearward-.- l-y extending portions of the first-named member are; secured to the last named rearwardly ex-.

one ofsaid members having-a pair of elongated downwardlyextendingspaced bar portions joined at theirlowerends by a transverse bar portion, eachsof ,said' Mr portions having its upper 'end bent'rearwardly and terminating in a wall engaging portion provided with an attaching eye, the second member being inverted and comprising a pair of elongatedfront bar. portions extending inwardly and downwardly toward each otheroand inclining downwardly and rearwardly toward the firstnamed member, said last named bar por-v tions having their upper ends-bent rearwardly and joined by a horizontally extending transverse bar portion, the lower endsof said'last named front bar portions being bent rearwardly and then downwardly to form .wall engaging portions terminating in upwardly opening -forwardly ex-; tending hooks,: and wherein the rearwardly ex.-
tending portions of each of said members are secured to the transverse bar portion of the other member, and with the plane passing through the wall engaging portion and planes passing through the elongated portions of the respective members all converging toward each other at their lower ends.

An iron holder of the character described comprising a pair of members each member comprising a single strand of wire,one 'of said members having a substantially horizontal transverse portion connected to the bottom of a pair of substantially vertically extending arm portions, the other ends of each of said arms being bent rearwardly and then upwardly, the upward portions thereof being formed into eyes to receive wall retaining means, the other of said members comprisinga horizontal bar portion of greater length than the horizontal bar portion of the first membar, a pair of forwardly extending portions at the ends of each of said last named transverse bar portions, said forwardlyextending portions being. bent forwardly and inwardly and then downwardly andv inwardly to provide converging portions which incline downwardly and inwardly toward the arm portionsof the first "named members, the bottom ends of saidl'ast-named portions being bent rearwardlyjand then downwardly to form wallcontacting portions.
