FERTILIZER-BAG.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 258,524, dated May 23, 1882.
Application filed March 9, 1882. (N0 specimens.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROBERT It. ZELL, of the city of Baltimore and State of Maryland, have invented certain Improvements in Fertilizer-Bag's, of which the following is a specification.
The object of this invention is to construct bags for phosphatic fertilizers capable of resisting the corrosive action of the acids in the said fertilizers.
In carrying out my invention I take of rosinsoap, or the ingredients of such soap, one hundred pounds; pulverized. alum, five pounds; pulverized asbestos, four pounds; dissolved gelatine, one pound; and water, a sufficient quantity. After the materials are thoroughly mixed, bagging, or the bags to be rendered the interstices in the bagging. It also renders the bags practically fire-proof.
I claim as my invention- An acid-proof bag for holding fertilizers, which consists of bagging treated with an aqueous solution of rosin-soap, alum, asbestus,
and gelatine, in the proportions substantially as specified.
