LANTERN-BRACKET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 252,697, dated January 24, 1882.
' Application mea June 21,1881. (Modeln y To all whom it mag/'concern Beit known that l, WILLIAM M. PHELPS, ot' Marshall, in the county of Calhoun, and in the State ot' Michigan, have inventedcertain new and useful Improvements in Lantern- Braekets; and I do hereby declare that the following' is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had' to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.'
This invention has for its object to provide a simple, cheap, and convenientattachment whereby a lamp or lantern may be readily attached to a carriage or buggy dash-board or to any other similar fixture. This'object I attain by the devices illustrated -in the accompanying drawing, which shows aperspective view of my invention.
The letter A indicates a rectangular metalconcave reiiector, B, it' desired. At the sides of said vframes are located the wires G, which extend. above and below the frame A. The upper ends of the wires C are bent rearward and downward, as indicated by the letter D, and the lower ends are bent forward and pr0- vided with hooks E at their extremities. At the upper corners ot' tire frame are pivoted horizontal wires F havin0n hooks'G yat their i ends, and at the lower edge of said frame is pivoted a wire, G', the ends` of which project and are bent forward and provided with semicylindrical bearings H at their ends.

In combination with the frame A, provided with wires C, having' hooked ends l) and E, the wires F and G', the tirst mentioned provided with hooks G and the list mentioned with bearings H, the whole adapted to hold a lantern and support the same upon the dashboard of a vehicle or other tixture, substantially as specitied.
