COMBINATION ADVERTISING AND RETURN ORDER BLANK Filed April 21, 1947 v 2 Sheets-Shet 2' INVENTOR. CHARLES B; OOOHRAN BYMJ . to the expense of theartigl This invention relates to' adcombin aition letter or advertisingform or descriptiomtogether with a return'message or order blank, formed from a single sheet of foldablematerial and whichlcan be 'used for mailing purposes.
In a particularforniof article of the class'referred to, a four page return letter combination consists of "a "primarydr'iessage section printed suitably on two of its pageswhilethe secondary or return message sectionis marked up by the' receiver and returned to the originator fas'his reply to the primary messages l'lhe return section is torn oi;f,;.irom1 the origi r al combination and mailed backialo'ne. The disadvantage qf this type of articleis in th: s'tructural part that requires the gluing or-cefneiitin pr clipping'with a staple or fastenerof the fold *portion'sb efore mailing so that it';Wi11 passgy'approvably through the mails. This is objectionable becauseit adds y akes mor. timeto get readyfian'd oftentimes basses injury 't'o the article to an extent that interferes with its commercial value.
It istherefore an object of the herein described invention, to provide a new and improved combination sending-and-returning letter-form that will avoid one or more of the disadvantages and limitations of the prior art.
Another object of this invention is to provide a new and improved combination sending-andreturning letter-form that "may be sent out through the mail without requiring any fastening with stickers or clips although containing plural pages in its make-up.
A further object of theinvention is to provide a new and improved letter-form for combination V the appended drawings for an outline of a particular form of the invention by wayof example, while the following description details its features and indicates its operation. The scope of the invention is indicated in the claim.
Referring to the drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a front view of a blank sending-andreturning letter-form embodying this invention, the dotted outline indicating an optional place- Figure is the foldedblank folded 'again in'tli'e smasher" 1- Figure his a perspective View e Show "1 .I ll

Figure '8' is aperspectivevie'w of the return section, lank torn from the sending}sectiong and sea-aready "for mailing back.
Similar .reier nq ehar ets s .refe partsthroughout the drawings. In the construction shown in the drawings,
rectangular blank I0 is provided with printing on both sides and division crease lines I 9 and partitionin it off into eight pages ll, l2, l3, l4.
shown, or to that shown in the dotted location shown to the left of Figure 1 or such other positions as may be more desirable or suitable for a particular instance.
The printing on pages I! and I2 is combined and shown in Figure 1 and may outline the purpose of the letter-form to a particular individual. On the opposite sides of the same sheets on which pages II and 12 are shown, are pages l3 and M respectively. Page 13 has the prospects address while page M is used for a special tabulation or information. The blank is folded on line. I9 and assumes the. form shown in Figure 3. The flap 2| is turned mechanically or bent to hold on to the sheet on which pages [5, l1, and I6 and H! are arranged. This is suiiicient to hold the folder together without cementing any of the sheets by the flap 2 I. This is one way to bend the material of which the letter-form is made using the crease lines mentioned. However, the sheets may be bent so that the flap 2! encompasses two sheets inside instead of one sheet as indicated in the Figures 5, 6 and 7, by. arranging the printing difierently to suit. if such an arrangement is prehres i's'a lank shown in Figure l but ready and receiver, so that it affords an effective means; of correspondence by mail. The last form. of the.
blank when returned is closed so as to: hepartially confidential, and no clips are necessary.
While a glued flap is provided, it is'notnsediwhen,
the originator sends it through. the mails for its first mailing. No clip is necessary when the lettor-form is primarily sent. The drawings dicate in outline a type, of printing and reading matter toabe applied, as well. as: the details re quired to meet postal requirements, and. whether such would have; prepaid postageor not. It is believed! that such-details wiiL be evident with- ,Qutiurther description, and for thatreason are not, more fully outlined herein. The: form used is suitable for the production and distribution of: literature; and since the: return section is; in-
.side-theletter-form when originally sent, it is protected from postmarks or other objectionable ,icontacts.
While but two, general forms or the invention are, shown in the drawings and described in the specifications it is not desired to limit this appiication for patent, to his particular form or in any other way otherwise, than limited by the scope thereof, as it is appreciated; that other forms could be made that would use the: same principles; and come within the. scope: of. the. appended claim.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimedis:
A letter sheet ditided by a. central, vertical perforated line into two main sections, the said sections being divided by a medial crease fold line, each of said main sections providing two coextensive spaces, one space on one of said sections bearing the name and address of the addressee and the cooperative space of said last specified section bearing written information thereon, one space of the other of said sections bearing-"the name and addressofi the; sender and the cooperative space of said last specified section being provided for the addressees reply, and
