It is one of the objects of the invention to provide a stopping assembly for slush pump valves which is removably positioned upon the pump -'deck. 1
]'Another objectof the inventionis to provide a valve stopping plate which is removablys'upportv ed above the pump deck and arranged to set as a stopfZorthe downward movement of the slush pump valves i Still another object of the invention is to provide a stop for a slush pump valve having a stem where the stop is spaced above the pump deck and adjustably anchored in position.
Still another object of the invention is to provide a slush pump valve having a stop ring on the upper end of the valve stem in combination with a stop plate therefor.
Another object of the invention is to provide a stop cage for slush pump valves which also serves as an outlet for the liquid being pumped.
Still another object of the invention is to provide an adjustable stopping collar for slush pump valves so that the position at which the valve is stopped may be adjusted to obtain the proper sealing action or to compensate for wear.
Other and further objects of the invention will be readily apparent with the following description is considered in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein:

This stem. 30 is threaded at :31 on its upper end with a cross thread arranged to adjustably receive "the stop collar 32. This collar can beset in any desired position on the stem '30 by the-locking bolt 33..
To receive the stop collar 32 and limit the downward movement of the valve 20 soasto pro-= tect the resilient seal ring 25, there has been provided a stop plate 35 having an opening 36 therein which receives the stop gasket 31 which is disposed in a recess 38 in the stop plate 35 so as to confine it against extrusion due to the pressure from the stop collar 32.
A cage or ring 40 which is cylindrical in configuration, rests upon the surface 4| of the pump deck 4 and encloses the seat ring 6 and the slush pump Valve so as to provide a working chamber 42 from which the liquid being pumped may flow through the discharge outlets 43. The plate 35 seats in the recess 44. The cage 40 may be formed as desired, but to insert it through the opening 30, there has been made aplurality of parts such as 4'! and 4B which may be segments of a circle. These segments may be passed through the opening l3 and inserted or inter- 3 locked by the tongue and groove construction 49, best seen in Fig. 2. When all assembled, these segments make a complete ring or cage which serves to support the stop ring 35.
In order to retain the stop plate in position on the substructure of the valve and to also provide a stopjpr the valve on its upwardmovement, a bridge, or cap 50 in the form of an inverteol cup is shown as disposed on the upper surface 5| of the stop plate 35. This cap encloses the adjustable stop ring 32 and is intended to prevent abrasive material from entering the chamber formed by the cap and the stop plate,
In order to firmly anchor the; stop, plate in, position, an adjusting spindle 53 is threaded at 54 through the pot cover I4. I n this manner the parts may be assembled, the pot cover firmly anchored, and then the spindle 53 adjiwfifid, to firmly anchor the cap.

What is claimed is:
1. A slush pump valve, assembly including a valvebody, a valve seat in the valve body, a valve to engage said seat, a stern on said valve, a valve stopping assembly on the valvebody including a support ring supported on a surface contiguous with said seat, a plate thereon thru which said valvestenn projects, a head on said stem, and a topmernber on; said plate disposedto stop said head.
2. A slush pump valve assembly including a valve body, a,va1ve seat in the valve body, a, valve to engage saidseat, a stem on saidvalve, avalve stopping assembly on the valve body including-a support ring surrounding said valve and supported on a surface contiguous Withsaidseat,aplate thereon thru which said valve stem projects, a head on said stem, astop member-on said platedisposed to stopsaid=head; a potcover and means carried by the pump-pot coverand engaging said'plate to holdisaidplate in-position.

A slush pump valve assembly including a valve body, a valve seat in the valve body, a valve to engage said seat, a stem on said valve. a valve stopping assembly on the valve body including a support ring, a plate thereon thru which said valve stem projects, a head on said t t, and a stop m m er nusaid, p at d sposed to stop said head; sa d head. omprising an adjustable nut to set the stopping position of said alve.
5. A slush pump valve and stopping device thereiqncomprising a valve having a stem, a stop head adjustably carried by said stem, said stopping deyice including a stop cylinder enclosing said valve a, stop bridge thereon, and means. on said bridge to receive said head.
