This invention relates to improvements in golf tees and more particularly to a novel golf tee which may be made from a stamping.

An object of the invention is to provide a device of the type which has integral anchoring means so that the device will not be readily lost when struck by a golf club.

Another object of the invention is to provide a device of the type which will quickly receive a golf-ball without unnecessary care on the part of thef'user to balance the same, and which will not interfere with movement of the ball when the same is played.

Referring more particularly to the drawing, the numeral l refers to the device generally, having an anchorpoint II, a right angle bend at [2 and a triformed body portion l3 comprising the central support member l4 having the curved end l5 and the two side support members 16 and [1, the latter two being formed arcuately upwardly and terminating in inwardly biased downwardly curved ends, l8 and IS. The inward bias of ends 18 and i9 conform to the normal curvature of a golf ball.

In use, the anchorpoint ll may be forced into the ground 20 preferably at a forwardly and downward angle, so that the supporting members l5, l6, and I! will extend forwardly of the place of ground entry. The ball, 2 i, may then be placed on the points l5, l8, and [9, where it will be adequately supported for the drive. The tee 10 may be formed of material having a limited spring quality, so that it will yield when struck by a golf club without presenting any obstruction thereto.

It will be understood that the device is capable of many modifications in structure and design, without departing from the spirit of the invention, within the scope of the appended claim.

Having thus described my invention, What I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is:

A golf tee formed of a unitary sheet metal element bent at a right angle, the portion of the element formed on one side of said bend constituting a triangular point for insertion into the ground, the portion of the element on the opposite side of said bend terminating in three spaced uni-directional arms commencing in spaced relation from said bend, the central arm being straight, and the outer arms being shorter and curved in parallel relation.
