l The invention relates to liquid Idispensing de- Vices, adapted to be placed in a Ibottle or other receptacle, and provided with a spring closed valve and a. vent pipe having Ia spring closed closure, which vent valve closure is opened when the discharge valve is opened, thereby allowing the discharge of liquid into a receptacle until the liquid level in the receptacle rises above the lower end of the vent pipe. 3 v
A further object is to provide the discharge valve with a valve stem extending Iupwardly and terminating in ra shoulder on which la lip of the vent closure rests so the vent elosure'will :be simultaneously opened when the discharge' valve is opened, and spring means for 'forcing the vent closure to closed position when the discharge Valve is seated. Also to'provide an extension shaft on the discharge valve for-engagement with the-bottom of a glass :forunseating the valve.

Referring to the drawing, the numeral I designates :a casing having a chamber 2 itherein. Disposed within the chamber 2 is a frusto conically shaped valve 3 which seats on a similarly shaped valve seat 4. The valve 3, at its upper end, is provided with a spider 5 having guide lugs 6 for maintaining the valve substantially axially of the device, and also Iprovided with spaced lugs 1 on opposite sides 'of the vent pipe `8, therefore 4 claims. The cylindrical sleeve I2 extends downwardly and terminates in a shoulder I3 Within the upper appear. Slidably mounted on the upper end of the vent pipe Sis a cylindrical closure valve 25 having an air port 26 in one side, and a washer 21 flor clos- Aing the upper end Vof the vent. The lower -end of the vent valve 25 is provided with an `apertured ear, lip or lug 28, slidably mounted on the reduced shaft I9 and normally engaging the shoulder 23, and interposed between the shoulder 23 Iand the arm 2| is an expansion spring 29, which closes the vent valve when the discharge valve 3 is closed by the spring I'I. Y
When the shaft I 8 engages within the glass and the device forced downwardly for the discharge operation, the valve 3 is unseated and springs I'I and 29 are compressed, hence the vent valve is simultaneously opened with the opening of the discharge valve, and when pressure is removed from the shaft I8 both valves are simultaneously closed. Surrounding the sleeve I2 is a tapered stopper 30 when the device is used as a bottle attachment, and at which time it is placed in the neck of the bottle.
From the above it will be seen that a dispensing device is provided which is particularly adapted for dispensing liquor into glasses, and provided with compact means for simultaneously opening the discharge opening and inner end of the vent pipe, and also simultaneously closing the same.
The invention having been set forth, what is claimed as new and useful is:
1. A dispensing device for bottles comprising a casing having a chamber therein, means for attaching said casing to a bottle neck, a valve seat at the discharge end of said casing, a valve cooperating with said valve seat, an extension member carried by the valve and adapted to engage in a receptacle for unseating the discharge valve, an upwardly extending shaft carried by the inner end of said discharge valve andV slidably mounted in a bearing carried by the inner end of the casing, an expansion spring surrounding said shaft for normally maintaining the disl charge valve seated, a vent pipe within the casing to one side of the shaft, the lower end of said vent pipe extending through the side of the lower end of the casing above the valve, a closure Valve for the upper end of the vent pipe, spring means for normally forcing said vent pipe valve to closed position, said vent pipe valve having an apertured lug through which the discharge valve shaft extends. y
2. A dispensing device for receptacles comprising a chambered casing, said casing comprising a lowerA section, an upper section, interengaging connections between said lower and upper sections, Vmeans for maintaining said connections, the upper end of the upper section being open and provided with a transverse arch, a valve seat in the lower end of the lower section, a valve cooperating with said seat, said valve having a downwardly extending receptacle engaging shaft, an upwardly extending shaft within the casing carried by the valve and having a reduced portion at its upper end, an expansion spring surrounding said upwardly extending shaft between the arch SID and the valve, a vent pipe within the casing to one side of the upwardly extending shaft and extending through the arch, a slidable vent closure valve carried by the upper end of the vent pipe, said vent pipe valve having an apertured lip through the aperture of which the upwardly extending shaft extends, an arm carried by the arch and in which the upper end of the reduced portion of the shaft is slidably -mounted and an expansion spring interposed between the arm and the lip.
3. A device as set forth in claim 2 including a centering spider carried by the valve within the casing, said centering spider having spaced guide lugs on opposite sides of the vent pipe.
4. The combination with a dispensing device lfor liquid from a bottle, said device having an axially disposed discharge valve, a vent pipe to one side of the discharge valve, said discharge valve having an upwardly extending shaft, spring means for normally seating the discharge valve, of a slidable closure valve for the upper end of the vent pipe, said closure valve having an apertured lug through which a reduced portion of the upwardly extending shaft passes and spring means for normally forcing downwardly on said apertured lug whereby said vent valve will close and open with the seating and unseating of the discharge valve. l
