This invention has utilitywhen incorporated as a chiropedic platform incidental to obtaining foot X-ray views wherein the patient retains the original stance, the energy source or tube position is undisturbed. This is herein accomplished by providing a turn-table or swivel base for the platform. The patient k accordingly remains standing at the same position adopted for taking a rst view, say of the left foot; then without disturbing the patient, the operator merely turns the platform, say 180 to have the right foot in viewing for the energy source. kIn the instance of a pocket exposing a portion` only of the film for the left foot exposure, such film may be rotated top edge down to bring the unexposed film portion to project above the platform and properly Iback of the right foot for the next exposure. Notwithstanding that the platform has been turned, the patient retains the original standing position so that the patients body load is transmitted to the respective feet in like manner still retained for the left foot as the right foot be subject to exposure for an- X-ray picture thereof.
Referring to the drawings;
Fig. 1 is a plan view of a turn-table platform chiropedic X-ray device of the invention embodiment;
Fig. 2 is a partial medial vertical section of the platformof Fig. 1;
Fig. 3 is a side elevation of the platform from the left of Fig. 1;

Fig- 5 is a section in the region of the line V-V, Fig. 1, with showing of lift position for the lrn; and
Fig. 6 is a plan View, Vpartly broken away, of the lm pocket of Fig. 5.
The device embodiment of the invention is herein shown as comprising a circular base I having a central opening 2. An angle guide or shield near the outer top 'edge of the base I, has an upright leg 3 and therefrom a lower outwardly extending leg or ange 4 directly mounted on the upper side of the base I with a pair of cross straps 5 as reinforcement extending at 90 apart diameters therefrom to cross centrally of the opening 2 and there having an opening 6 to receive an externally threaded stem 1.
A cylindrical shell or housing 8 is of internal diameter to rise outside of and just clear from contactingy the leg 3 of the base angle. second 'slot'SI Fixed with`A the underside Aof the platform I9 and extending from the slot 36 are 3 bracket elements 31 from a Wall 38 terminating in a pair of opposing end channels 39 as guide means for an X-ray opaque Wall pocket or holder having atop flange 40, a main descending side wall 4| therefrom to an inclined bottom 42 at an upturned flange 43 as a channel to receive the lower edge of a film 44 placed therein and to be directed by side grooves 45 from the Wall 4| as riding upwardly from the guideslor channels l39.
A blanking-out or shield portion 46 may be placed over a portion of the lm 44, thereby to protect it from exposure and conserve fora different picture subsequent use prior to the development of the film.
Approximately in the line 20 at the region of its intersection with the slot 38, is a recess 41 -in the top of the platform I9 Vleading to the slot 38. There is thus provided a nger or linger-nail catch region to takehold of the flange 40 in order to lift the pocket to have the lm brought above the platform I9 into an exposure position.
Inthis ascent of the lm inthe pocket, the pocket side 4I has riding against its back portion a pair of arms or fork tines 48 of a plunger rod 49 thrust by a helical compression spring '50. Diametrically from the pull Vknob 30, is a second pull knob I, the latter being xed with the rod 49. At the full lift or exposure position for the nlm 44 as lifted by the flange 40, the spring 50 causes the fork to slide against the face 42 and lodge under the intersection of the face 42 with the ledge 43, in thus stabilizing an untilted holding position for the film 44 in the lifted pocket 4I, 42, 43, 45. Upon exposure of the iilm, the holder may be allowed to drop down into the slot 36 by pulling out the knob 5I. Asthe descent is completed, the knob 5I is released.
Energy source or X-ray equipment 52 may be disposed in proper focus proximity to the platform I9, say in the region'of the line 20 extended for a side view of the full left Afoot of a patient standing on the platform I9, with the `left foot on the side of the slot 22 away from the slot 36, and the right foot close to the slot 22 on the side of the slot 22 toward the slot 36. As so positioned, say one-half of the film 44 may be upwardly projected or in its normal position b etween the feet Yof the patient. With thepatient thus standing in a normal position, the operator may take a view say in the straight position as suggested toward the film 34.
The pocket at the slot 36 has its descent limit at a ledge 52, altho the flange 49 may also provide a down limit.
The platform I9 is a deck of a turntable antifrictionally supported by the rollers I2. The extent of the base I is slightly radially outward from the housing or shell 8. Upon the side of the shell 8, say in the region of the knob 5I, there is a slideway bracket 53 having a compression helical spring 54 therein to thrust a pin '55 downward to have it register with a recess 56 in the base I. These recesses may be at diiferentpositions, say every 45. With the pin in register with a recess 56, for release, an eye 51 integral with the pin 55 may be lifted as to the bracket 53, thereby to clear the pin vof the recess 56. The operator may then turn the platform I9 with the patient still standing in the same position thereon. In the instance of say 180 shifting to a diametrical recess 56 from that at which the initial exposure was taken on the nlm 34 in the slot 22, the other or right foot of the patient, as still standing in the same position, is now toward the energy' source 52. Then film 34 as say half projecting from the slot 22 and having thereon the exposure for the left foot of the patient, may now have its top edge turned into the pocket as shown by the arrows 58 (Figs. 1, 3). There is thus left projecting above the plane of the platform I9 and between the feet of the patient, the other or untilnow-unexposed portion of the film 34. Accordingly now all is in readiness for the second exposure or for the right foot on the same lm with the left foot. Edgewise orienting of the nlm 44, as shown by the arrows 58 (Fig. 3), has the feet on the developed film bottom to bottom, but the toes of one foot are under the heel of the other. Inasmuch as the patient has-remained standing in the same position thr-uout, there is advantage for the chiropodist of unchanged stance as between the feet of the patient.
Besides this full half turn for the platform I9, as in the instance of takingl different feet of the same patient, denite other angles may be taken, without occasion to shift the energy source 52. However, in the event there be other than a horizontal direction sought from the energy source, such source may -be adjusted in its mounting 59. This control or manipulation may extend not only as to lms in the slot 22, but also to lms in the slot 36.
What is claimed and it is desired to secure by Letters Patent is:
A chiropody X-ray photograph patient-supporting turntable platform having a diametrically directed slot in its top, a support for the platform comprising a base, an annular series of rollers mounted on the `base, an endless housing forming a skirt depending from the platform and extending toward the base to conceal the rollers, an endless track fixed with the inner side of the skirt to ride on the rollers and coact thru the skirt to carry the platform antifrictionally on the base, centering means extending axially from the ba-se and having Yconnection with the Atrack to hold the skirt spaced from the rollers, a pocket xed with the platformslot and extending toward the centering means, saidl pocket being clear of the base and movable with the platform relatively to the base, said pocket providing a seatadapted to position an Y-ray film to expose a portion thereof outward from the slot whereby a patient at a single stance astride the slot may have one foot between such lm portion and an X-ray energy source, with opportunityfor the patient `to be repositioned by rotating the platform half way around to place the otherwise unshifted patient in the same stance to expose the other foot to the same undisturbed energy source to be taken by a film portion thus exposed from the other side of the film pocket in its rise therefrom opposite `to the exposure for the one foot.
