Referring more particularly to the drawings, the iestoon ring indicated by numeral I0 is for supporting drapery and the like which is passed through the ring, the same having a round cross section for the purpose. For such use it is desirable that the ring be supported in different positions relatively to a supporting wall and accordingly the invention provides an adapter indicated by numeral l2 having a plurality of indexed positions on a bracket 14.

The bracket l4 includes a shank portion l6 longitudinally ribbed at l8 for strengthening purposes and a supporting portion having a right angle bend with respect to the shank. The iestoon ring is provided with a section providing the transverse recesses 34 and which is rendered decorative by the provision of bulbous portions 38 with a recess being located between each pair of said portions. The adapter is secured to the bracket by the screw 26 and which is tightened when the adapter has been rotated to the desired adjusted position. This will locate the protuberance 36 in one of the indexing openings 28 and thus the adapter is locked and held to the bracket in said desired position.

The festoon ring is fitted to the adapter by 10- eating the prongs 3.2 in the transverse recesses 34. The spacing between the prongs is such that a tight fit is provided for the festoon ring. It is desirable that the prongs have a slight spreading when the ring is inserted to thereby maintain tension on the ring and hold the same firmly to the adapter. Also the hollow shape of the prongs 32 produces additional holding action on the ring since each prong in cross-section is similar in outline to the recess receiving the same. The ring has a press fit on the adapter and is resiliently held, being releasable at any time, and which operations do not require the manipulations of any screws or bolts.

Figure 2 illustrates the rotative positions of the adapter to vary the angle of the festoon ring.

Figure 3 illustrates another manner of assembling the ring with respect to the adapter and bracket. In both methods of use of the ring the rotative adjustability of the adapter may be employed to vary its position on the bracket. When the screw 26 is tightened the adapter is locked in place on the bracket by the protuberance 36 seating in one of the openings 28. It is only necessary to release the screw and rotate the adapter to vary its position and the inclination of the festoon ring.

The invention is not to be limited to or by details of construction of the particular embodiment thereof illustrated by the drawings as various other forms of the device will of course be apparent to those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit of the invention or the scope of the claims.

What is claimed is:

1. In a device of the character described, in combination, a bracket for securement to a supporting structure, an adapter releasably and rotatably secured to the bracket, said adapter and bracket having coacting means for holding the adapter in adjusted rotative position, spaced supporting prongs provided by the adapter, and a drapery ring releasably engaged by said prongs for supporting said ring from the bracket.

2. Ina device of the character described, in combination, a bracket having a shank portion and an angularly disposed supporting portion, an adapter releasably and rotatably secured to the shank portion at the outer end thereof, said adapter and bracket having coacting means for holding the adapter in adjusted rotative position, spaced supporting prongs projecting from the base of the adapter, and a drapery ring releasably engaged by said prongs for supporting said ring from the bracket.

In a device of the character described, in combination, a bracket for securement to a supporting structure, an adapter including a base portion and spaced supporting prongs extending from said base, securing means having connection with the base of. the adapter centrally thereof for pivotally securing the adapter to the bracket whereby the adapter may rotate about said means as an axis, and means on the adapter having co- 4 action with the bracket for holding the adapter in adjusted rotative position.

4. In a device of the character described, as defined by claim 3 wherein said spaced supporting prongs are substantially U-shaped in cross section with the concave surface of each prong being directed outwardly and opposite to that of the other prong.

5. A drapery ring support comprising, in combination, a bracket having a, shank portion and an angularly disposed supporting portion, an adapter rotatably secured to the shank portion at the outer end thereof, said adapter including a base portion providing spaced projecting supporting prongs, means on the base of the adapter having coaction with the bracket for holding the adapter in adjusted rotative position, and a drapery ring having transverse recesses for receiving the supporting prongs whereby said ring is releasably fixed to said adapter.

6. A drapery ring support comprising, in combination, a bracket for securement to a support,- ing structure, said bracket having a plurality of openings formed therein adjacent the free end thereof, an adapter including a base portion providing spaced projecting supporting prongs, a securing screw releasably securing the adapter to the bracket adjacent the free end thereof whereby the adapter may be rotated about said screw as an axis when the same is released, means on the base of the adapter having coacting relation with said openings in the bracket for holding the adapter in adjusted rotative position, and a drapery ring having transverse recesses for receiving the supporting prongs whereby said ring is releasably fixed to said adapter.
