This invention relates to a form of censer. The conventional censer is a vessel in which an incense is burned for the purpose of scenting air, repelling insects, counteracting odors, and the like. Another type of censer relies upon the volatility of fluid when exposed to atmospheric pressure to dissipate itself in, the atmosphere. This invention relates to this latter type of censer.
Highly volatile fluids for neutralizing odors and packed in a container having a removable cap and a protruding wick have become quite popular. The housewife removes the cap of the container during such periods of time as she desires to counteract odors. The container is usually a bottle having a wick extending through the orifice so as to bring the volatile fluid to a point where it will encounter circulating air. The user may draw the wick out of the orifice in order to inrease the action. The container is not attractive and a housewife is not likely to permit one to stand permanently in any room other than the kitchen.
The first object of this invention is to provide a container or bottle holder of attractive design which will completely conceal a bottle carrying the volatile fluid and which will have readily manipulatable means for exposing the fluid to the air currents in the room or segregating them from those currents. Applicants holder consists of a bell type base having an interior height exceeding that of the bottle of volatile fluid with a threaded opening for receiving a threaded bottle neck. The holder supports the bottle from its neck.
A second object of the invention is to provide a Wick holding chamber having ports in conjunc- I tion with a cap having registrable ports which may be moved so as to vent the chamber to air or seal it from the air. The cap and the bottle are readily removable from the holder. A feature of the invention is a drip trough which will catch any overflowing fluid should the device be tilted.
These and such other objects as may hereinafter appear are disclosed in an embodiment of the invention shown in the accompanying drawings comprising one sheet wherein:

Extending close to the vents is one end of a wick 24 having its lower end The wick chamber H3 is of a size sufficient to receive a substantial quantity of the Wick 24. The closer the wick is brought to the vents 22 where air is circulating, the more rapid the evaporation of fluid. Around the base of the chamber I 8 and on the top it is an annular shoulder 3!] which forms a drip trough 32. This annular shoulder is set back from the outside surface of the holder l2 so as to form an annular recess or cap seat 34.
The cap 36 is likewise frusto-conical in shape with an open bottom. The circular bottom 38 rests in the recess 34. The top of the cap 36 has an inside ceilin shaped to engage snugly the top 20 of the wick chamber 48. The top of the cap 36 has equally spaced vents 42 which are equal in number to vents 22. The space between each vent 32 is slightly greater than the circumferential width of a Vent such as 22 so that by turning the cap 36 the wick chamber may be opened to or sealed, from a flow of air.
In order to hold the cap firmly in position, there depends downwardly a cylindrical sheath 44 which fits snugly over the outside of the wick chamber 28. The holder is and the cap 36 are made of a plastic and the attached parts are formed integrally with one another. The annular shoulder 38 has a short cut-out portion 45 into which seats a lug 48. The cut-out portion 46 exceeds the circumferential width of the lug 48 by a distance suficient to permit the cap to be turned from a closed position when the vents 22 are closed to an open position when the vents 22 are in alignment with the vents 42. The cap may be turned by a finger grip 56 mounted on the top of the cap 36.
Having thus described the invention, applicant claims:
1. A censer comprising a support, a wick chamber on said support, an opening into said wick chamber for receiving a container neck, a vent from said wick chamber, and a removable closure member for said vent.
2. A censer comprising a frame member having a top, a threaded opening in said top for receiving like threads of a bottle orifice, a wick chamber over said opening, and a vent from said wick chamber.
3. A censer comprising a frame member having a top, a threaded opening in said top for receiving like threads of a bottle orifice, a wick chamber over said threaded opening, a vent in the top of said wick chamber, and a removable closure member for said vent.

A censer comprising a frame having an open bottom, a top and opaque sides, an opening through said top, means for holding the orifice of 5 a bottle to the under side of said opening, a wick chamber over said opening, vents through the wall of said wick chamber, and a cap enclosing the top of said irame, said caphavingropenings 6.
