First, .to provide a chip truck for sawing maohinesandother machines `discharging chips `-or debris which is simple `in structure and very easy to" manipulate.

. 'Second, to .provide a Ytruck or `wheeled receptacle of ythis character in which .the handle .is telescopieall-y collapsible with its .parts on the outer -sideofethe receptaclelout at the same time does fnotobjectionably project, and is guarded in collapsed position.

i `to provide a truck of .this .character having a front Wall which .constitutes a .closure lorthetopeningsin .the wall of the pedestaladapted to .receive .the truck.

The chip truck of this invention comprises a receptacle designated generally by the numeral 4 and provided 'with-wheels z5. The receptacle side Walls6 areprovided Awith outnturned flanges l at their upper edges. The front wall `8 of the receptacle ls .designed to harmonize with the pedestal and extends 1laterally Vbeyond the side walls as well ;as upwardly above :the upper edges "of the side Awalls and .downwardly in front of -the wheels in the form of an apron 9 to constitute a guard for the wheels, the front plate being of 2 such dimensions as vto constitute a closure `for the `pedestal opening `2. The lpedestal has .inset flanges JI0 around its vtop and side edges which serve as seats forfthe front wall 8. l 1

The 'front wall is provided lwith holes Il posi-` tioned in the laterally projecting portion fof the front sWallto receive the handle bars` i2. 'These handle bars' are provided :with an `'integral cross piece I3 at their outer ends which constitutes a handle grip. 'The .handle Abars .are slidable through the holes I l `to collapse at the outer sidesV of the side walls of fthe freceptacle ,below #the hang-es '1 thereof. The .angle slideway :members 23 are secured to the side walls below fthe anges 1 .and preferably with rtheir upper ledges abutting the under sides of .the flanges as illustrated yin Figs. 2 and 4. Theseaanglemembers-:aresecured to the side-walls by spot welds 154.

'Theslideways serve to support :thezhandlevbars in `horizontal collapsed `position asshown in Fig. 2 with the .grip disposed :horizontally across the front =of -t'he front 'wall and spaced therefrom for grasping. 'When the truck is .positioned the handle :may `beswung downwardly to a horizontal lposition ,and .pushed inwardly yto `collapsibly vtelescope 'the side 4bars of thehandle at Kthesideslof the truck as shown in Fig. 2. When `the handle is collapsed Vthere are nofprojecting lpartsxand :there lare no projecting partswhen it is erectedfthat .are likely to interfere With =the :positioning oi lthe .truckwithin vthe :pedestal. When 'the Itruck is `positioned 4within the pedestal 'with ythe handle fully .collapsed :its gripV is disposed sothatfitlmay Vbeconveniently grasped, and `a continuous pull and 'upward swing 1brings it to position for removing the truck from the pedestal and manipulation to the `dun-'ming point by either pulling or pushing. Y

Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters,

Patent is:

1. In a chip truck for a machine havinga'cham'# bered pedestal provided with a truck receiving opening in its front wall extending to the bottom thereof, the combination of a wheeled receptacle having side walls provided with out-turned nanges at their upper edges and` a front wall extending laterally beyond the side walls andabove the top thereof and below the bottom of the receptacle and constituting a closure for the pedestal opening, a handle comprising handle bars connected at their outer ends by a cross piece constituting a grip, the bars being slidably arranged through openings provided therefor in the front wall to telescope at Ithe sides of the receptacle side walls, and angled slideways for said handle bars mounted on the sidewalls of the receptacle withv their upper edges below said side wall anges, said slideway members being adapted to support the handle in horizontal position when it is collapsed with its grip portion extending horizontally across the front wall, the handle bars having upwardly` curved portions at their rearends permitting the handle when extended to be swung to an upwardly inclined position for manipulation of the truck, saidbars being provided with transverse retaining pins at their inner ends.

2. In a chip truck for a machine having a charnbered pedestal provided with a truck receiving opening in its front wall extending to the bottom thereof, the combination of a wheeled receptacle comprising side walls and a front wall extending laterally beyond the side walls and above the top thereof and below the bottom of the receptacle and constituting a closure for the pedestal opening, ya handle comprising handle bars connected at their outer ends by a cross piece constituting a grip, the bars being slidably arranged through openings provided therefor in the front wall to telescope at the sides of the receptacle side walls,

and slideways for said handle bars mounted on the side walls of the receptacle, said slideway members being adapted to support the handle in horizontal position when it is collapsed with its grip portion extending horizontally across the front wall, thehandle bars when extended being swingable to an upwardly inclined position for manipulation of the truck.

' 3. The combination of a portable receptacle having sidewalls provided with outturned iianges at ltheir upper edges and a front wall extending laterally beyond the side walls, handle bars provided with a grip at their outer ends, the bars being slidably arranged through openings provided therefor in the front wall to telescope at the sides of the receptacle side walls, and angled slideways for said handle bars mounted on the side walls of the receptacle with their upper edges below said side wall iianges, said slideway members being adapted to slidably support the handle in horizontal position when it is collapsed with its grip portion extending horizontally across the front of the front wall, the handle bars having upwardly curved portions at their rear ends permitting the handle when extended to be swung to an upwardly inclined position for manipulation of the receptacle, said bars being provided -With transverse retainingv pins at their inner ends.

4. The combination of a portable receptacle 4 comprising side walls and a front wall extending laterally beyond .the side `waplls,..handle bars provided with a grip at their outer'jen'dsf';A the bars being slidably arranged'through openings provided therefor in the front Wall to telescope at the sides of the receptacle side Walls, and slideways for said handle bars on the side walls of the receptacle with their upper edges below said side wall flanges, said slideway members being adapted to slidably support the handle Vin colv the handle bars when extended being swingable to an upwardly inclined position for manipulation of the receptacle.

5. The combination of a wheeled receptacle having side walls provided withA outturned flanges at their upper'edges and a front wall extending laterally beyond the side walls, handle bars'provided with a common grip at their front ends slidably arranged through openings provided" therefor in the front wall to telescope at thesides"l of the receptacle side walls, and angled slideways for said handle bars mountedon the sides of the receptacle with their upperedgesbelow said side wall flanges, said slideways being adaptedto sup#y port the handle in horizontal position whencolf'l lapsed with its grip at the front of the frontwalll,"

the handle bars having angularly disposed por#y tions at their rear ends adapted to be withdrawn through the front wall .permitting'thehandle' when extended to be swung to an upwardlyin-' clined position for pushing and pulling manipula tion of the truck, said bars being providedvvith retaining means preventing their withdrawal through the openings inthe frontwall.

6. The combination of a wheeled receptacleopen at the topand comprising side w'allsand `a front wall extending laterally beyond theside walls, handle bars provided with a commongrip at their front ends slidably arranged through openings provided therefor in the front Walltov telescope at the sides of the receptacle side Walls, and slideways for said handle bars mounted on the sides of the receptaclev adjacent the topf thereof, said slideways beinga'd'aptedto support the handle when collapsed with its'grip at the front of the front wall, the handle bars being swingable to an upwardly inclined positionfor pushing and pulling manipulation of the truck.

7. The combination of a portable receptacle open at the top and comprising side walls/,handle bars provided with a common grip, said bars being mounted on said receptacle to slidably collapse -on the outer sides of the sidewalls and :adjacent the top thereof, the receptacle'having a front portion throughwhich the handle bars extend, the bars being angled'at their rear ends so that they are disposedv in an upwardly inclined'posivv tion when fully extended, the engagement of the handle bars with the receptacle being such that when in extended position the truck may be pulled or pushed thereby and when thehandle fisfully collapsed the grip is disposed at the `front Vofthe,V receptacle for grasping,
