This embodiment of the invention includes a body or form III having approximately the shape of the knot portion of the ordinary tie, transversely divided into a plurality of detachably connected sections I I and I2. The form I is provided, in its upper section, with a pair of recesses I3 opening into the same from the rear and receiving individually the arms I4 of a U-shaped member I5. ,This member I5, when attached to the form III, has its projecting portionbent upwardly as shown in Figs. 1 and 2 with the cross part of the U at the top. This makes it possible to push the upstanding portion of the U downwardly over a collar button of a shirt, or the button which connects the ends of the neck band together in the case of a shirt having an attached collar. The upstanding portion of the member I5 is also providedwith laterally extending eyes IE to which the ends of a strip or band I! may be detachably connected, the band I! being shown only by dash lines in Fig. 2 since it, per se, is not a part of this invention. Usually the strip or band I1 is made of entirely elastic material or ofiother material with an elastic section.

The lower end or portion of the lower section I2 is provided with a reduced neck I8 to enable attachment thereto of one or more panels or streamers of the tie. Relatively rigid members I9 and are provided with spring lamp arms 2I.and 22.1'espectively, which telescopingly engage over each other and'overthe neck I8 of the form section I2. For example, the clamp arms 22 may first be snapped over the neck I8 and then the clamp arms 2I may be snapped over the arms .22, as shown in Fig. .3. The clamp arms 2| and'22 extend'more than halfway around the neck IB; so as to normally remain attached thereto,. but which may be removed therefrom by springing them apart. 7

Each of the members I9 and 20 has a depending web portion 23 with apertures 24 therein, to which the upper end of the streamers or panels fof'textile fabric or other similar sheet materials are secured. This textile fabric or sheet mate-- rial forming the streamers is shown by the 'dash lines 25 in Figs. 1 and 2 and full lines in Figs. 6, 8, 9 and 11. In some instances it may be desirable to separate the sections with a decorative ring 29 (Fig. 6). In this'embodiment of the invention, the fabric 26 is shown in full lines as applied over the form, and the means by which the tie may be attached to the band I! illustrated as eyes I8a of the type shown in'Fig. 4. The streamers 25 are shown in full lines. In this embodiment of the invention which is also shown in section in Fig. 7, the ring 29 is a closed, circular ring, whose internal diameter is slightly less than the external diameter of the 'form III, and the abutting faces of the sections II and I2 may be slightly beveled or grooved at the peripheral edges of their abutting faces so as to lit the surface of the ring'29.-The' edges of the covering 26 are confinedbeneath the ring 29 as shown in Fig. '7.

Whileany means may be employed for detachably coupling the sections I I and I2, a practical construction for that purpose is illustrated in Fig. 7. In accordance with this construction, the abutting faces of the sections II and I2 are provided with;a ligned, cylindrical recesses 30 and '3], and a cylindrical sleeve 32 is frictionally and telescopically fitted within and against the outside or peripheral wall of, the recess 30 and extends outwardly'byond the face of section I2 which abuts section I I. A metal liner 33 fits the peripheral wall of the recess 3| in section II, and the inside diameter of this liner 33 is approximately the same as the outside periphery of the sleeve 32.1 The sleeve 32 is cemented or otherwise secured to the section I2, and the liner 33 is cementedor otherwise secured to the section II. The projecting end of the sleeve 32 is provided with longitudinal. slits 34 which divide the projecting portioninto springfingers having inwardly turned flanges 35 so that when the sections II and I2 are brought together in aligned relationship, the fingersfin the projecting portion of the sleeve 32 will be sprung inwardlyslightly as they are inserted within liner 33 and will frictionally engage andslide' along the liner 33. This provides a frictional action between them which warrant separationand relative rotation of the sections II and I2. The sleeve 32 thus aligns depending from the lowest section of said form, and a concentric ring interposed between said sections at the peripheries of their abutting faces.

A necktie comprising a form having approximately the shape of the knot part of a tie, and transversely divided into a plurality of sections, said sections having detachable, interconnecting parts at their abutting faces, within the periphery of the sections at said faces, one of said sections carrying means by which it may be removably supported at the front of the neck band, a streamer part detachably coupled to and depending from the lowest section of said form, and a concentric ring interposed between said sections at the peripheries of their abutting faces, said sections being individually covered with a textile fabric, whereby by using a ring with any of selected colors, and fabrics and streamers of diiferent colors and patterns, a relatively wide variety of visual effects for the tie can be selectively obtained.

4. A necktie comprising a form having approximately the shape of the knot part of a tie, and transversely divided into a plurality of sections, said sections having telescoping portions for connecting the sections and holding them in alignment.

5. In a preformed necktie of the type having a form approximately of the shape of the knot part of a tie, and a streamer part coupled to, and depending from, the lower portion of said form, that improvement in said form which comprises a body divided transversely into a plurality of sections, said sections having telescoping and interfitting portions for aligning the sections with respect to one another, and holding them against separation and additional means Within the body and detachably coupling the sections together.

6. In a preformed necktie of the type having a form approximately of the shape of the knot part of a tie, and a streamer part coupled to, and depending from, the lower portion of said form, that improvement in said form which comprises a body divided transversely into a plurality of sections, said sections having telescoping and interfitting portions for positioning the sections with respect to one another, one of said sections having a cavity therein and a coupling member accessible through said cavity for coupling and uncoupling said sections.

7. In a preformed necktie of the type having a form approximately of the shape of the knot part of a tie, and a streamer-part coupled to, and depending from, the lower portion of said form, that improvement in said form which comprises a body divided transversely into a plurality of sections having telescoping and interfitting portions for positioning the sections with respect to one another, one of said sections having a cavity therein, and a coupling member accessible through said cavity for coupling and uncoupling said sections, said section with said recess having a movable closure normally closing the cavity but opening to enable access to said coupling member.

8. In a preformed necktie of the type having a form approximately of the shape of the knot part of a tie, and a, streamer part coupled to, and depending from, the lower portion of said form, that improvement in said form which comprises a body divided transversely into a plurality of sections, said sections having telescoping and interfitting portions for positioning the sections with respect to one another and a ring disposed between said sections at their abutting faces and concentric with said form, said ring having a smaller internal diameter than the outside diameter of said body at the abutting faces of the sections, whereby said ring may be clamped between said sections.

9. In a preformed necktie of the type having a form approximately of the shape of the knot part of a tie, and a streamer part coupled to, and depending from, the lower portion of said form, that improvement in said form which comprises a body divided transversely into a plurality of sections, said sections having telescoping and interfitting portions for positioning the sections with respect to one another, a ring disposed between said sections at their abutting faces and concentric with said form, said ring having a smaller internal diameter than the outside diameter of said form at the abutting faces of the sections, whereby said ring may be clamped between said sections by assembling said sections, and a covering of textile fabric for each section, with the edges of the covering at said ring clamped beneath the ring to the section, whereby the ring will conceal the free edges of the covering at the joint between the sections.
