My invention refers to a trick cane, such as disclosed in my Patent Number 2,385,091, dated September 18, 1945.
The particular object of my invention is to provide a. simple fountain cane, carrying a squeeze bulb in its handle, in check valve communication with the hollow fountain body of the cane stem and ferrule, whereby upon a hand squeeze of the bulb, it will discharge a ne stream of fluid, through the ferrule, it being understood that the fluid loaded cane, will repeat the discharge impulses indefinitely, depending upon the volume of liquid stored in said cane.
With the above and other objects in view, which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts, substantially as hereinafter described, and more particularly dened by the appended claims, it being understood that such changes in the precise embodiment of the herein disclosed invention may be made as come within the scope of the claims.
In the accompanying drawings is illustrated one complete example of the physical embodiment of the present invention constructed according to the best mode so far devised for the practical application of the principles thereof.

Figure l represents an elevation of a. fountain cane embodying the features of my invention, parts being broken away and partly in section to more clearly illustrate structural features.

Fig. 3 is a fragmentary view of the ferrule and iiuid connections modied in form.
Referring by characters to the drawings, I indicates a hollow cane stem, having tted to its upper end an offset handle 2.
The under-face of the handle has secured thereto, a flexible squeeze bulb 3 having a. hollow neck in communication therewith, the same bem ing extended through a channel 5 in the handle shank.
Below the shank of the neck 4, it terminates with branch sections t and 4".
The branch section 4 is connected to a flexi ble tube 6, the lower end of which tube is fitted to the extended end of a cored plug l seated into the bottom end of the cane stem. The lower end of the plug is shouldered, and secured to the mouth l', is a chambered tip 8, the plug and tip together forming a ferrule.
The chambered tip 8 is provided with a diagonal 2 upwardly inclined bleed 8', for the discharge of aflne stream of liquid.
Nested between the base of the plug 'I and a shouldered portion of the chamber 8, and the chamber tip 8', is a flexible diaphragm disc 9, which disc, as bestl indicated in Figure 2 of the drawings, is provided with a central uid discharge slit 9.
The disc, so positioned, serves as a discharge check valve, whereby uid from the cored plug is delivered to the chamber portion of the tip 8.
The fluid re-iill, of the hollow cane stem, is obtained through an aperture I0 in said stem, at its upper end, the same being closed by any suitable stopper I0.
The branch section 4" of the neck 4 communioates with a suction tube section II, which tube section terminates in juxtaposition to the ferrule, or near the bottom of the stem fluid contents. The suction tube has tted into its bottom end a nipple I2, which nipple carries an intake check valve ball I2'.
From the foregoing description, it is obvious, when the squeeze bulb 3 with its ferrule connections, is squeezed, a thin spray of fluid is discharged from the ferrule, with each4 squeeze movement of the bulb.
When the bulb 3 is freed from hand pressure, it will expand to its normal area and in so doing will create a suction through the neck 4 and check valve controlled nipple I2, whereby the fluid is sucked from the bottom of the hollow stem. Thus a pumping action, in effect, is developed.
It is understood, in some instances, a single discharge tube 6 may be employed, in connection with a valve controlled intake nipple I2, which communicates, by a branch tube I3, with the tube 6 adjacent to the ferrule, whereby the length of the tube II is dispensed with.
I claim:
l. In a hollow stemmed cane having an offset handle; the combination of a ferrule for the stem comprising a, chambered tip having a discharge orice, a cored plug nested into the tip, a discharge check valve fitted between the plug and tip, an exposed squeeze bulb nested in the cane handle, a tube connecting the bulb and cored ferruled plug, an intake nipple communicating with the tube adjacent to the ferrule and an intake check valve mounted in the nipple.
