This invention relates to improvements 'in'baby feeding devices and has for its object to' provide a babyfeeder consisting of an adjustable stand and means for supporting a feeding bottle flex-- may have vertical and horizontalpivotal move-- ment.
Other features and advantages will become more readily apparent from the following description and the; accompanying illustrative drawings in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of my baby feeder,
Figure 2 is a front elevational view thereof, parts being removed, and
Figure 3 is a side elevational View.
In the accompanying drawings as above enumerated and in the following specification, like characters of reference indicate like parts throughout and in which l0 indicates a nursing bottle holder which consists of an easel l I formed of an inverted U-shaped member l2 and a rear leg member [3 hingedly connected thereto along The member I3 is slidably held to an anchor member It by means of an elastic band H, the ends l8 and 19 of which are secured to the edges 20 and 2| of said anchor, the two members l3 and I6 together forming a telescopic rear leg for the device. The upper ends of the legs 22 and 23 of said U-member are beveled as at 24 and 25. Midway of the head 26 of the U-member, a cut-out 21 is provided of a width to receive the bottom end '28 of a feeding bottle 29, said end seating against the inner surface 39 of the member l3. Fixed to the edge l5 of member I3 adjacent each side of the cut-out 21 are the ends 3| and 32 of an elastic 33, to the center 34 of which is fixed an end of an elastic 35. The outer end 36 of the elastic 35 is attached to an elastic ring 31 adapted to be looped over the neck 38 of the bottle 29 to bear against the under shoulder 3!! thereof, whereby said bottle will be held in an inclined position upon the border edge '39 of said cut-out 21. Secured to said head portion 26 and slightly spaced from the terminals 40 and 4| of the edge 39 are the ends 42 and-t3 of an elastic M, which is seated around the central portion of the bottle and which Is-secured its-center 45 to the elastic 35. Theabovedescribed elastic harnesswhich I'shall refer to as a wholeby the character 46, is of a size and character to fit tightly upon the bottle 29*tohd1dit in anormally inclined position as illustrated; but will allow a free universal movement thereof-'by'a nursing child. The angle of the device whenin' operative position as indicated'in'Figures 1' and 3 of the'd-rawings; is adjustable'through-meansofits telescopic members 16 and f3:
The anchorl fiis oisuflicient weighttohold the device= in: set-up position against accidental up-- set' through movement of an infant nursing from the-bottle; but which it can readily throw over when throughnursingby simply raising the bottle' out of its way, thereby causing an over-turn o'i' the-device: The-members l2 and I3 are held normally spread apart by a leaf 4'! hinged at 49' to the header edge 49' connecting legs 22 and 23. To the free edge 48 of said leaf is connected springs or elastic 48', also connected to the upper end of member l3, whereby member 41 is normally held raised to hold the legs of the easel fixedly spaced apart by leaf 41, may be drawn down against the tension of the springs to collapse the easel (see Figure 3). The lower end 50 of 'the anchor I6 is provided with a slot 5! through which a strap 52 is threaded and which strap is adapted to be secured around the tray of a high-chair when the device is to be used thereon, a buckle 53 being provided on the strap wherebyit may be adjustably attached to the tray.
In case it may be desired to raise the bottle 29 higher than normally necessary, I provide a pair of extension legs 54 and 55 which may be telescopically adjusted to the free ends of legs 22 and 23 and held frictionally clamped thereon by means of a series of elastics 56.
It is thought that persons skilled in the art to which the invention relates will be able to obtain a clear understanding of the invention after considering the description in connection with the drawings. Therefore, a more lengthy description is regarded as unnecessary.
Minor changes in shape, size and rearrangement of details and parts such as come within the purview of the invention claimed may be resorted to, in actual practice, if desired.
Having now described my invention, that which I claim as new and. desire to procure by Letters Patent is:
1. A baby feeder comprising an easel having a pocket formed in its upper end, means for holding a bottle seated therein, said means consisting of a harness attached to the easel and fitted upon the bottle in a manner to give the bottle universal movement, means for adjusting the angular position of the easel, means for adjustment of the height of the bottle, said harness being elastic and including a loop for the nipple end of the bottle, said height adjusting means consisting of a pair of attachable leg ends frictionally engageable with the legs of the easel, an anchor for supporting said easel and forming a part of said angular adjusting means, and means for securing the anchor to a tray.
2. A baby feeder comprising an easel having a pocket formed in its upper end, means for holding a bottle seated therein, said means consisting of a harness attached to the easel and'fitted upon the bottle in a manner to give the bottle universal movement, means for adjusting the angular position of the easel, means for adjustment of the height of the bottle, said harness being elastic and including a loop for the nipple end of the bottle, said height adjusting means con-' sisting of a pair of attachable leg ends frictionally engageable with the legs of the easel, and an anchor for supporting said easel and forming a part of said an ular adjustin means.
3. A baby feeder comprisin an easel having a pocket formed in its upper end, means for holding a bottle seated therein, said means consisting of a harness attached to the easel and fitted upon the bottle in a manner to give the bottle universal movement, means for adjusting the angular position of the easel, means for adjustment of the height of the bottle, said harness being elastic and including a loop for the nipple end of the bottle, and said height adjusting means consisting of a pair of attachable leg ends frictionally engageable with the legs of the easel.
4. A baby feeder comprising an easel having a pocket formed in its upper end, means for holding a bottle seated therein, said means consisting of a harness attached to the easel and fitted upon the bottle in a manner to give the bottle universal movement, means for adjusting the angular osition of the easel, means for adjust ment of the height of the bottle, said harness being elastic and including a loop for the nipple end of the bottle, and said height adjusting means consisting of a pair of attachable leg ends.
5. A baby feeder comprising an easel having a pocket formed in its up r end, means for holding a bottle seated therein, said means consisting of a harness attached to the easel and fitted upon the bottle in a manner to give the bottle universal movement, means for adjusting the angular position of the easel, means for adjustment of the height of the bottle, and said harness being elastic and including a loopfor the nipple end of the bottle.
6. A baby feeder comprising an easel having a pocket formed in its upper end, means for holding a bottle seated therein, said means consisting of a harness attached to the easel and fitted upon the bottle in a manner to give the bottle universal movement, means for adjusting the angular position of the easel, means for adjustment of the height of the bottle, and said harness being elastic.
