This invention relates to an adjustable link for use in combination with watch bracelets, and other types of bracelets, and one of its objects is to provide a link which will connect` the usual latch and the chain section to each other, but
which can be adjusted to adapt the complete bracelet assembly to various sizes of wrists,
Another object of the invention is the provision of a link for bracelets, having a positive adjustment, which can be readily operated by a jeweler or other informed person, to enlarge or reduce the wearing size of the bracelet, and which will remain in its adjusted condition, without accidentally shifting its adjustment.
A ilurther object of the invention is the provision of a bracelet link which may be combined with a watch bracelet and a standard clutch coupling, to form a pleasing decorative piece of jewelry. i
With the above and other objects in view the invention consists in certain new and useful ccnstructions, combinations, and arrangements of parts, clearly described in the following specilication, and fully illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which- Fig. 1 is a top plan View, showing the case of the improved link.
Fig. 2 is a view of the case alone, taken on the line 2 2, looking in the direction of the arrows.

Fig. 4 is a central longitudinal sectional View through the case, showing the latch of the link in full lines in normal latching position, and in unlatching or releasing position in dotted lines.

Referring to the accompanying drawing which illustrates the practical application of my invention, 5 designates one chain section of the combined unit, and 6 the other chain section. The outer ends of these chain sections are equipped with watch connectors l, al1 of standard construction. l
i claim. (01'. 24-2o6) y The inner end of the chain section 5 carries one of my improved adjustable links `8, and the inner end of the chain section 6 carries a similar adjustable link 9. Between these links the standard `coupling or clutch element IG is arits. entire length, leaving alone an integral cross bar i3, which is formed with an undercut inner side ISa.
A latch cover I4 is constructed to t snugly between the side walls I5 and IE of the tubular case I I, and this cover I4 is provided with a hinge lug il, which snugly fit between the opposing side walls I5 and I6, anda pintle or hinge pin I8 is extended through the side walls I5 and I6 and through the hinge lug Il. The latch cover ld has a length equal to the distance between the integral cross bar I3 and the opposite end of the case Il, and the hinge lugs are pivotally connected to the side walls I5 and IB adjacent such opposite end. The side walls I5 and I E are reduced in height and the latch cover abuts against the upper edges of these side walls, and its upper surface is flush with the upper surface oi the integral cross bar I3.
The forward end of the latch cover is slightly rounded at I4a, as shown in Fig. 4, so that it will have a smooth swinging bearing on'the undercut inner surface I3a of the integral cross bar I3.
The latch cover is shown to be formed with a plurality of pin openings or holes I9, three being shown, which are spaced apart from each other equal distances, and these holes regulate the increase or decrease in the capacity of the complete bracelet, which is obtained by the use of a single adjustable link.
The pintle or hinge pin I8 which connects the latch cover for hinge movement on the case II, also connects the non-adjustable link 20, which includes two side members or bars 2| and 22, and the cross' bar 23. This link 20 is pivoted to swing on the case II, and the cross bar 23 extends endwise of the case II so that it can engage a slot in the central coupling or clutch element IU, according to standard practice, which need not here by detailed.
The cooperating or associated chain section is equipped with ring or loop 24, which is hard soldered or xed thereto, and this ring or loop is provided with an integra1 stud pin 25, which is disposed midway of the sides of the'ring or loop. The chain section is adapted to be extended ings or holes I9 of the latch cover I4. This stud pin is adapted'to abut against the cross bar I3 when the chain section is pulled andthe latch cover is in raised position.
The side walls I5 and i6 are formed with thumb nail clearances I5 of concave form, near the uplper edges thereof, so that the latch cover or leaf I4 may be lifted.
When the latch cover or leaf is in raised position the ring or loop 24 may be shifted endwise in the case II, so that it will be aligned with either one of the holes I 9 of the latch cover 0r leaf. When this is done the latch' cover is forced downwardly against the frictional resistance offered by the cross bar-I3, which constitutes the keeper of the latch assembly.
When the latch cover is in its latching position, it is entirely nested between the side walls of the case II and protected by the cross bar I3, so that it cannot be accidentally displaced` from its latch position.
An adjustable link is coupled to the central coupling, on each side thereof, so that three ad- 4 justments are possible on each side of the central coupling. By increasing the number of holes in the latch cover or leaf the distance between any two holes may be reduced and the number of adjustments accordingly increased.
It is understood that various changes in the details of construction, their combination and arrangement, may be resorted to, within the scope of the invention, as defined by the claim hereof.
Having described my invention I claim as new:
A clasp for a chain section of a bracelet comprising a tubular case having a bottom and spaced side walls, said case further being open at one end and having a stop member at its opposite end, a cover latch member having a lug depending from its lower surface, a hinge Din passing through the side walls of the case and said lug adjacent the open end of the lcase to hinge the cover to the case, said cover having a plurality of equally spaced openings longitudinally thereof, a loop member secured to an end of said chain section and having a vertically projecting stud at its upper end, said chain loop member being positioned within said case with said stud engageable by the openings in said cover, and said loop being engageable by said stop member to limit movement of the chain section outwardly of the case.
