The invention has for its principal objects to provide a strong, durable and economical vfolded-blank body which may be ;quickly;andeasily set up without'the use of staples, tape or; glue and readily knocked down .for return shipment to-the packer; to provide .ior quickly and easily locking the cover to the body through the hand holes-inthe latter; to

What I claim is: v

1. A carton comprising a body having a bottom panel with upstanding end flaps and side panels with end flaps that are bent inwardly from opposite sides of said body into substantially edgewise abutting relation to form with said bottom panel flaps two-ply end walls, said bottom 4 panel flaps and cover the hand holes therein,

said side panel flaps having slits leading upwardly from the lower edgesthereof on opposite sides two-ply end walls, said bottom panel flaps having hand holes therethrough and said side panel flaps having portions that are disposed alongside the inner faces of the bottom anel flaps and cover the hand holes therein, said side panel flaps having slits leading upwardly from the lower edges thereof on opposite sides of said hand holes, whereby the hand, hole covering portions of said side panel flaps are adapted for vertical folding movement towards and away from said hand holes, said cover having tabs depending therefrom that are bent through said hand holes and thence upwardly between'said bottom and side panel flaps, the vertical folding movementof said hand hole covering portions of said side'panel flaps being adapted to facilitate such bending of saidcover locking tabs and their withdrawal from between said bottom and side panel iiaps and through saidhand holes.

3. A carton comprising a'body and a cover therefor, said body having a bottom panel with upstanding end flaps having hand holes therethrough andside panels with inwardly extending end flaps disposed alongside of said bottom P panel flaps in edgewise abutting relation, said bottom panel flaps having relatively shallow notches inthe upper edges thereof adjacent to the side edges'thereof, said side panel flaps having portions overlapping the outer faces of said bottom panel flaps between notches therein and the side edges thereof, portions that extend through said notches alongside the inside faces of said bottom panel flaps and relatively long rectangular tabs depending from said last mentioned portions and extending below the bottoms of said notches and across the hand holes in said bottom panel flaps into close proximity to said bottom panel, said cover having locking tabs depending from the ends thereof that are bent in- 'wardly through said hand holes and thence upwardly between said bottom panel flaps and the depending tabs of said side panel flaps, said side panel flaps having score lines thereon that deline the upper ends of the depending flaps thereof,

whereby said depending flaps are foldable along said score lines fiatwise'against said second mentioned side panel flap portions for passage therewith through said notches when said body is set up and knocked down and are adapted to swin inwardly away from said bottom panel flaps to facilitate such bending of said cover locking tabs and their withdrawal from between said bot 'tom panel flap and said depending tabs and through said hand holes.
