'I'he invention relates to a drier, and more especially to a nail polish drying machine.

The primary object of the invention is the provision of -a machine of this character, wherein the polish applied to the nail of the hand of a person can be readily and conveniently hardened or dried, the machine being of novel construction so that a number of the fingers and the thumb of a hand can be introduced into the machine at one and the same time, thus expediting the drying period in the operation of such machine.

Another object of the invention is the provision of a machine of this character, wherein it is portable, and can be brought to rest on a support, such as a table or the like, so as to be in position to receive the fingers of the hand for the drying of the nail polish on the nails of the fingers with dispatch, and without discomfort to the user of the said machine.

A further object of the invention is the provision of a machine of this character, wherein it is novel in construction, unique in the working thereof, conveniently used, and electrically controlled.

A still further object of the invention is the provision of a machine of this character, which is simple in construction, thoroughly reliable and efficient in the working thereof, strong, durable, neat in appearance, sanitary in the use of the same, self-supporting, and inexpensive to manufacture and install.

With these and other objects in View, the invention consists in the features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, which show the preferred embodiment of the invention, and pointed out in the claims hereunto appended.

Figure 1 is an end elevation of the machine constructed in accordance with the invention.

Figure 3 is a fragmentary top plan view.

Figure 4 is a fragmentary rear elevation.

Figure 5 is a fragmentary plan view of the lower section of the machine, looking toward the inner face thereof.

Figure 6 is a perspective view of one of the finger pads removed from the machine.

Similar reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views in the drawings.

Referring to the drawings in detail, A designates generally the machine in its entirety, as constructed in accordance with the invention,

and comprises upper and lower body sections ID and II, respectively, these matching each other, and are of board-like formation, excepting that the upper section, next to its rear edge has formed therewith an upstanding housing I2, creating a compartment for an electric rotary motor, not shown, while both sections interiorly thereof have provided therein an air-way, constituting a blower conduit I3, which at the narrow rearmost neck portion I4 lies beneath the motor compartment. This neck portion I4 opens through the rear edge of the body constituted by the sections I0 and II and effects an air intake port.

The flared forward portions I5 of this conduit I3 is in direct communication with a series of finger passages I6, which open through the front or forward edge of the body of the machine A. The passages I6 are selectively spaced apart from each other, and are of a size to accommodate the fingers and thumb of the hand of a person. These passages are fitted with rest pads I1, which function to seal the said passages about the fingers, denotedat B, best seen in Figure 1 of the drawings, to avoid the escape of air therethrough outwardly at the front edge of the machine.

The innermost ends of these passages I6 have coinciding therewith rearward inclined outlets I8 which communicate directly with the conduit I3 at the flared portion I5 thereof, so that air passing over the nails of the fingers accommodated within the passages I6 will be discharged through such outlets I8 from the body of the machine A in the working thereof, and in this manner the polish present on the nails will become dried with dispatch.

On the power shaft I9 of the motor and working within the neck portion I4 is a bladed wheel 2li, effecting a blower for directing Iair to the nails of the fingers and thumb introduced into the machine in the manner as heretofore stated for the drying of the nail polish, as present on the nails. i l Vil The sections IIJ and II are detachably held togetherA by suitable fasteners 2|, while the lower section I I is equipped with feet 22 for holding the machine at rest on a support, as a table or the like, not shown, in the use thereof.

It is also possible to have the ports now termed outlets I8 serve as intake ports. while the neck portion I4 can function as the discharge port or outlet, and in this working the motor operation would be reversed.

From the foregoing, it is thought that the construction and manner of operation of the machine will be clearly understood, and therefore, a more extended explanation has been omitted.
