The present invention relates to new and useful improvements in nursing bottle holders, and has for one of its important objects to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a device of this character which is adapted to accommodate various sizes and shapes of bottles.

Another very important object of the invention is to provide a device-of the aforementioned character which may be readily adjusted to hold the bottle at any desired inclination to ensure proper flow of the milk therefrom and complete draining.

Still another important object of the invention is to provide an adjustable nursing bottle holder of the character described which, when not in use, is adapted to be readily folded flat in a mannor to require a minimum of space.

Another important object of the invention is to provide a nursing bottle holder embodying unique means for firmly securing the device in position without the necessity of using pins or other extraneous means.

Other objects of the invention are to provide an adjustable, foldable nursing bottle holder of the character set forth which will be comparatively simple in construction, strong, durable, highly efficient and reliable in use, compact, light in weight and which may be manufactured at low cost.

Figure 1 is a view in side elevation of a nursing bottle holder constructed in accordance with the present invention, showing the device in use.

Figure 2 is a top plan view of the device.

Figures 3 and 4 are transverse sectional views, taken substantially on the lines 33 and 4-4, respectively of Figure 1.

Figure 5 is a top plan view, showing the device folded.

Referring now to the drawing in detail, it will be seen that the embodiment of the invention which has been illustrated comprises an elongated base which is designated generally by reference character I. The base I is formed from a single length of suitable wire and includes afront end member 2 and spaced, parallel side members 3. Extending from the rear ends of the side members 3 of the base I are forwardly converging arms 4 and 5. The resilient wire from whichthe base I is formed is looped to provide coils 6 and I at the front and rear ends of the members 3.

The arm 4 is formed to provide a vertical coil 8 and terminates in a forwardly projecting, substantially U-shaped jaw 9. The arm 5 includes an upstanding forward portion II) which is journaled in the coil 8, thus pivotally connecting the converging arms 4 and 5 at their forward ends. The arm 5 terminates in a forwardly projecting, substantially U-shaped jaw I I which is cooperable with the jaw 9. As illustrated to advantage in Figure 1 of the drawing, the jaws 9 and II are adapted to receive and grip therebetween a bed cover, as at I2, for releasably securing the base I in position thereon.

Relatively low and high, vertically swinging brackets l3 and I4, respectively, are mounted on the front and rear ends of the base I. The bracket I3 includes a substantially V-shaped, resilient clamp I5 for the reception of the neck I6 Of a nursing bottle IT. The clamp I5 is suspended between a pair of inte ral, downwardly diverging legs I8 having their lower e ds Divotally connected to the coils Ii.

As best seen in Figure 3 of th drawing, the swinging bracket I4 includes a substantially U-shaped resilient clamp I9 which is adapted to receive the base portion of the bottle vI'l. The clamp I9 is suspended between a pair of'integral, relatively long legs 20 which are pivotally connected to the coils l of the base I.

It is thought that the manner in which the holder functions will be readily apparent from a consideration of the foregoing. Briefly, to secure the device in position on a bed, crib Or bassinette, the rear ends of the members 3 of the base I are squeezed inwardly as suggested in dotted lines in Figure 2 of the drawing. In this manner the jaws 9 and II are swung open and the bed cover I2 is inserted therebetween. The rear ends of the members 3 are then released and spring outwardly for closing the jaws 9 and II on the cover I2. The brackets I3 and I4 are then swung upwardly to operative position and the bottle I! is engaged in the clamps I5 and I9 thereof. Of course, the bottle I1 is held in a forwardly inclined position owing to the fact that the bracket I3 is considerably shorter than the bracket I4. The degree of inclination may be adjusted as desired by simply swinging the brackets I3 and I4 upwardly and downwardly, th construction and arrangement of said brackets being such as to permit this while still securely retaining the bottle. g I

It is'believed that the many advantages of a nursing bottle holder'constructed in accordance with the present inventionwill be readily understood, and'although a preferred embodiment of the device is as illustrated and described, it is to be understood that changes in the details or construction and in thecombination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to which will fall v within the scope of the invention as claimed.

What is claimed is:

1. A nursing bottle holder of the character described comprising an elongated wire base including pairs of coils, comparatively long and short foldable bottle supporting brackets mounted for swinging movement on the base, each bracket being of wire and including a pair of legs pivotally connected to a pair of the coils, and resilient clamps between the legs for the reception of the bottle.

A nursing bottle holder comprising a base formed from a single length of resilient wire and including a front member and parallel side members extending rearwardly from the front members, coils at the ends of the side members, comparatively short and long front and rear brackets mounted on the base, each bracket including a pair of legs having one end Pivotally connected to a pair or the coils, and resilient clamps between the other ends of the legs for receiving the bottle, and means for anchoring the base on a support 3.
