amenaedApril 3o, 192s; 3700. G. 757) The present invention relates to what may be described as a mechanical roster chart for posting shifts of guard forces or operating person` out having a minimum of time ofi, or release from duty by said personnel.
Al figured schedule or" time, giving the hours, days etc., is first made out on suitable cards, called schedule cards, and the names of the personnel are prepared preferably on separate pieces of cardboard or the like, and said names may be set out'by means of the present device in proper relation to the desired hours and vdays of service, when it is desired that particularindividuals shall be on duty, or in service.
By means of the present device the successive dates when the particular schedule cards, and the particularindividuals are intended to be on duty or inservice, may be changed according to the date or day and hour when the schedule is in effect, bymerely mechanically changing the position of the name and `date cards of the device (using an easily and quickly mechanically operated inner movable member), Withrelation to the holders in which are posted the schedule cards, and thenlocking the movable member in proper relative position, by means of a very simple locking device. 'All of which will be more thoroughly explained as the description proceeds herein.
The arrangement of date cards, schedule cards and personnel` names may be arranged for a weekly schedule, or a two weeks schedule, or a monthly schedule as desired, and more than one group of working personnel may be posted on the face of the device in hand if desired. I
When the personnel and schedule cards are adjusted for any particular day, the said arrangement of personnel `and schedule hours may be changed for a succeeding date very` quickly by merely moving the central `movable member carryingthe date and personnel cards, without any rearrangement of the schedule cards, and then locking the central movable member in the proper selected position. f
This chart can be used to checkahead for possible events of note or interest, and also to check back to determine who was on duty or in service on any particular post or section, on any par` ticular past date and time of watchor service. I I .The arrangement of the parts of the device in hand are particularlyingenious and convenient both for use, and` fcripurposes of manufacture, andthe nature of the constructional parts of the device will be fully described in the specication hereunder. a a g In` `the `accompanying drawings forming part of the present speciiicfation:`

, A schedule card is rst ,made `out such as Il, -rI4 or I6 for each of the metal frames 3, l, 9 to meet the requirements of any unit or establishment, covering posts, patrols, watches, etc., so there will not be any over-lap of duty or loss of time, and .to eliminate, if possible any return to duty Of Personnel `without having a minimum amount of time ou, or release from duty. The "gured schedule cards, are placed in the proper operation of the `device is as foland suitable-holder frames` 3, l, Son ltheiace of Vthe case I. yIii-there lis more thanvone section This member. I8l is adapted to .slid-4 On the face ofjthe member y schedule.
for the roster chart each section maintains its separate schedule and headings and the schedule cards made accordingly.
The names of the individuals or groups of personnel who are to be on duty, or in service'during the various watches or periods of service, are typedorprinted `on, paper or card-board strips and inserted in the` slots 32, `32 of` the name-card holders 2'I, 29 or 30 (see Fig. 4 of the drawings), and placed in pre-arranged working relation with reference to the schedule cards -as is at once understood.
The section holder 28, Fig. 4, is reserved for the dates the schedule cards are vto be in eiect, and date cards or slips on card-board preferably are made for insertion in the slots 32, 32 of the rack 22, which is used in the section holder 28. One of such dates always appears through the opening y5, Fig'. 1,'so the date on which the pre-` arranged schedule, and personnel cards are to be in effect is readily seen. The dated slips are placed in order in the rack 22, mounted in sec. tion holder 28, commencing at the top, for every week, .if on a weekly change of schedule,l every fourteen days, if on a two weeks schedule of-operation, and every 28 days, etc., if on a monthly Theslidable centrally-positioned member I8 is then inserted through ythe aperture 2.6 .in the bottom of the cover c'ase I, and pushed upward,
