` During retracting movement of the ejector from along the aforesaid transverse side of the cam and holds the elongated casing 29, and parts carried thereby, against being moved forwardly by its controlling spring I1, to permit a loaded clip being fed from the magazine into the chamber 2l. When the pin GII arrives at the longitudinal side of the cam, the controlling spring l1 of the elongated casing 29 quickly moves the elongated casing, tiring pin guide and tiring pin forwardly as a unit past the retracted ejector and shoves home the loaded cartridgeclip from the position shown in Figure 4 to the position shown in Figure 2.
At the end of the longitudinal side of the cam the pin 80 is carried by the forwardly moving ejector 31 into contact with a spring pressed angular gate 61 which is pivoted intermediate its ends in a recess in the inclined side of the cam. The forwardly moving pin trips thegate and moves on to its linut of forward movement to a position in advance of the cam, as shown by dotted lines in Figure 2.
The gate functions as a guide to start the pin Il travelling along the inclined side of the cam when the gun is next fired. In normal retracted position of the ejector, the pin 80 is disposed outwardly of the triangular cam and the gate prosuillciently to interrupt the pin on its rearward stroke and direct it onto the inclined side of the cam.

After all the clips in the magazine have been used, the elongated casing 29, nring pinand nring pin guide will be in forward position, see Figure 2. To reload the gun, the elongated casing, tiring pin and firing pin guide must be manually moved back to the position shown in Figure 4. For this purpose a pin 1l is securedfto the side of the elongated casing 2! and projects laterally through a suitable slot in the body Il of the gun. The pin terminates in a knob 1s which may be grasped by the operator and pulled back to withdraw the elongated casing bodily to its rear limit of movement. The knob is held back while the receiver 3l, the pin rides movable as a unit l having a rear ring the operator-supplies the magazine with loaded clips. The uppermost loaded clip will be forced by the spring l1 of the magazine into the chamber 25, see Figure 3. When the operator releases the knob 19, the. spring l1 moves the elongated casing, firing pin and ring pin guide forwardly as a unit to shove home the loaded clip, see Figure 2.
Since the operation of the mechanism has been described as the description of the parts progressed, it isthought that the invention will be Vfully understood without further explanation.
What is claimed is: 1. In a gun of the character described, a body, a barrel on the body, an elongated casing mounted to slide longitudinally in the body, said casing having a rear firing pin carrier portion and a receiver forming a chamber forwardly of the carrier portion for a clip of ammunition, an ejector housing extending laterally from the casingand with the casing, an ejector slidably mounted in the housing movable transversely of the receiver to elect used ammunition from the receiver, a ring pin in the ring pin carrier exposed to exploding gases in the cham- .ber and adapted to impel the elongated casing to operative posithe firing pin and cocked by rearward movement y of the casing.

In a gun of the character described, a body, a barrel on the body, an elongated casing mounted to slide longitudinally in the body, said casing pin carrier portion and a receiver forming a chamber forwardly of the carrier portion for a clip of ammunition, a latejector housing integral with the bottom, a ring pin in the firing pin carrier exposed to exploding gases in the chamber adapted to impel the elondisk 13 which is formed hammer I6 to hold the hammer 'gated casing and housing rearwardly as a unit, an ejector slidably mounted in the housing having an actuating pin projecting through the slot, a stationary triangular cam integral with the body having an inclined side adapted to intercept the pin during rearward movement of the elongated casing and housing and move the ejector transversely of the receiver for electing used ammunition, a spring controlled lever pivotally connected to the casing and to the ejector for retracting the ejector into the housing when the pin rides oi the inclined side of the cam. said cam having a transverse side engaging the pin and holding the elongated casing and housing against forward movement until the ejector is completely retracted from the receiver by said lever, and a spring connected to the body and to the elongated casing for moving the casing forwardly when the pin rides olf the transverse side of the cam to dispose the tiring pin in operative position and the ejector in released position.
