LOOM-HEDDLE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 235,098, dated December 7, 1880.

Application filed April 10, 1880.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JESSE L. Moss, Jr., of \Vesterly, Rhode Island, have invented a new and useful Heddle for Looms, of which th following; is a specification.

My invention relates to improvements in heddles for looms, such as are constructed with mail-eyes and operated by a jacquard; and the object of my improvement is to prevent the mail-eye from moving on the heddlethreads. I attain this object by the construction illnstratedin the accompanying drawing, which is an elevation of the heddle.

The mail-eye A is held in the loops of the heddle-threads B B, that serve, respectively, to connect said eye to the jacquard-hook and heddle-weight, which are so well known in the art that it was not deemed necessary to show them in the drawing. Those portions of the (No model.)

threads that compose the loops are secured closely together and closely to the said eye by means of the metallic clasps G O, that encircle them, thus practically preventing the said eye from moving on the threads.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

In a mail-heddle for Jacquard-100111 weaving, the combination of the 1nail-eye A and looped threads B B, that are adapted to serve, respectively, to connect said eye A to the jacquard-hook and heddle-weight, with the clasps U G, which serve, respectively, to secure the threads of the loops together, as shown, for the purpose set forth.
