My invention relates to Awater-closets, and has among its objects and advantages the provision of an improved bidet.

In the accompanying drawing:

Figure 1 is a front view of a water-closet in accordance with my invention.

Figure 2 is an enlarged sectional view of a liquid and warm air valve device, and

Figure 3 is a perspective view of a spray head.

In the embodimentl of the invention selected for illustration, I make use of a, conventional bowl I having the usual seat I2 and water box I4. To the ange I6 of the bowl is attached a clamp I8 having a hook 20 engaging over the flange. A set screw 22 engages the bottom face of the flange to secure the clamp to the ila-nge.

A U-shaped member 24 is pivoted at 26 to the clamp I8 for rotation about a vertical axis. Between the legs of themember 24y is pivoted a mount taking the form of a tubular bearing 28 for movement about a horizontal axis. Slidably mounted in the bearing 28 is a pipe 38 extending between the bowl I Il and the seat I2. A spray head 32 is attached to the pipe 30.

The clamp I8 is located at one side of the bowl so that the Ipipe 30 may be easily grasped in one hand and moved inwardly or outwardly with respect to the bowl, as well as pivoted vertically and in horizontal planes to attain desired positions of the spray head.

A water and warm air valve 34 is attached to the outer end of the pipe 30. A flexible water hose 36 is connected with a water supply pipe 38 and with the valve body 48 to place the water pipe in communication with a chamber 42 in the valve body. A flexible hose 44 is connected with a heater housing 46 and with the valve body 48 to place the heater housing in communication with a chamber 48 in the valve body. The chamber 48 has communication with the pipe 30.

A wall 58 separates the two chambers 42 and 48, but the wall is provided with a port 52 and an annular valve seat 54. .Inside the chamber 48 is located a valve body 56 having a. tapered end 58 engageable with the valve seat 54. This body has a second tapered endl) engageable with an annular seat 62' about the chamber 64 communieating with the hose 44.

A stem 66 is iixed to the body 56 and is slidably guided in a bore 68 and a cap 18 threadedly connected with the body 40. Suitable packing 12 is contained in a cavity 14 and about the valve stem 66. Normally the end 58 engages the valve seat 54, the valve body 56 being yieldingly held in this position by a compression spring 16 mounted on the stem and interposed between the cap 10 and a knob 18 attached to the stem.

A motor driven fan 88 has communication with the heater housing 46, the latter being of the electrical type. Both the motor and the heater are Wired to a switch 82, which may be foot operated and plugged into a wall outlet 84.

Movement of the end 58 away from its seat 54 places the water supply pipe 38 in communication with the vpipe 30 and causes a fine spray to flow from the head 32. The body 56 is pressed down as far as it will go to bring the end into seating engagement with the seat 62. After the bath, the body 56 is released to close the port 52 and the switch 82 closed to start the motor and blow warm drying air through the spray head 32.

Without further elaboration, the foregoing will so fully explain my invention, that others may, by applying current knowledge, readily adapt the same for use under various conditions of service.

I claim:

1. In a bidet, the combination of a toilet bowl having a seat, a clamp attached to the bowl, a member connected to the clamp for rotation about a vertical axis, a bearing sleeve connected to said member for rotation about a horizontal axis, a spray head located beneath the seat and having Ia conduit slidable in the bearing sleeve, fluid supply means, and a valve connecting said means with the conduit.

2. In a bidet, the combination of a toilet bowl having a seat, a mount attached to the bowl, a spray head located below said seat and having a conduit slidably and rotatably supported in said mount, a water supply means, an air heating means, a valve carried by said conduit, flexible conduits` connected to said water supply and air heating means and to said valve, said valve including two ports respectively communicating with said flexible conduits, a single valve member movable to positions for selectively opening and closing the respective ports, said air heating means including a heater housing and a motor driven fan for blowing air through the housing, and a switch means for controlling said motor.
