The smaller securing ring I4 forming part of the dripreceptacle device is adapted to engage the pinched ends of auxiliary umbrella ribs 23 in the same manner as ring I3,engages ribs. I'I. However, the pinched ends of ribs 23 each have a protruding or extruding edge 24 to limit the collapsed position of the ribs 23.' It is to be noted that screw 30 is provided with a flat head 3|! so that in the use of the umbrellaas a walking stick, the flat portion 28 of drip cup 29 will not wear out by contact with the-ground. In an umbrella, a drip attachment comprising an outer auxiliary covering disposed above the main umbrella covering, a plurality of ribs supporting said auxiliary covering andflbeing pivotally secured to theumbrella stick, and a cup member securable to the end of the umbrella stick and serving to clamp a part of the auxiliary covering therebetween and being adapted to receive water from the outer surface of the auxiliary covering when in a closed position.

In combination with an umbrella, a collapsible auxiliary covering secured to an end portion of the umbrella stick, a cup member securable to the umbrella stick end and serving to clamp a part of the auxiliary covering therebetween and being adjacent to said auxiliary covering and adapted to receive water from the outer surface of said auxiliary covering when in collapsed position.

In combination with an umbrella, a collapsible auxiliary covering secured to an end ""portion of the umbrella stick, means to secure saidauxiliary covering to the umbrella covering whereby, the closing of the main umbrella covering causes the closing of the auxiliary covering, a cup member securable to the end ofthe umbrella stick adjacent said auxiliary covering and adapted to receive water from the outer surface of said auxiliary covering when in collapsed position. i a

4. In combination with an umbrella, a collapsible auxiliary covering secured to an end portion of the umbrella stick, the outer edges of said auxiliary covering being adjacent the main umbrella covering whereby the auxiliary cover-
