Having described the invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by, LettersPatent of the United States is: 1 Ina shoe machine, the combination with a support for a last having shoe materials comprising an insole and a multi-ply upper thereon, l or an upper-trimming d'evicearranged to sever from the toe end of the upper materials the margin of one or more inner layers of the materials while leaving a margin of thegouter layer to overlap the insole, and a device for applying cement to the shoe for securing the margin of [the outer layer to the insole, the upper-trimming device and the, cement-applying device' being movable as a unit to bring the different devices alternately into positions to operate on the shoe. ,2. In a shoe machine, the combination with a support for a last having shoe materials comprisingan insole and a multi-ply upper thereon,

In a shoe machine, the combination with a support for a last having shoe materials comprising an insole and a multi-ply upper thereon, of an upper-trimming device arranged to sever from thetoe end of the upper materials the margin ofone or more inner layers of the materials while leaving a margin of the outer layer to overlap the insole, a device for applying cement to the shoe for securing the margin of the outer layer to the insole, a carrier'common to said upper-trimming device and cement-apply-
